Just at the turn of the century...stepping into 2004....with modern technologies at hand and every aspect of neccessities was met. At the CIA headquarter, everyone was talking about the new coming guy....the head of CIA...the former CIA supersisor had resigned from post last week. Everyone was enticipating the arrival of the new leader. Rumors was that he is a very strict and harsh person. Everything must be done the way he wanted to be or else you're in trouble....The CIA Agents were standing around chit chatting about how they will survive with the new guy.

"Man!! Why did Sir. Cheng have to go? He's not that old...we were doing fine under him..." Tony told the others.

"Well, I heard he had some personal matters he had to take care of abroad...I'm sure we'll be fine with the new leader..." Margie replied..."So what do you think Mei Ling?" she turned to Mei Ling.

Sitting at her cubical...she didn't say anything...just shrugged her shoulder. At that moment, the Former CIA Leader walked in with a younger, tall handsome looking guy dressed in a charcoal suit bdhind him...."Guys!!! I would like you to meet your new leader...Miu Kiu Wai...he's transfering from the special force in the CIA from England here...so make him feel like home around here..." Sir Cheng told them as he patted Kiu Wai's shoulder.

"Hi everyone!!! I heard many nice comments about you from Sir Cheng....and I hope you'll keep up your good work when you're working under me....I have very high expectations from my team..." Kiu Wai told them.

"Why don't you guys introduce yourself to Sir Miu..." Sir Cheng told them.

"Tony Leung Sir!!"
"Margie Tsang Sir!!"
"Yung Mei Ling...Sir!!" Mei Ling wasn't too happy when she found out that Kiu Wai is her supervisor. They go back way down the line...when she was in training...he was one of her proctor and he was really hard on her then. She didn't like him then...and thought that after graduating from the CIA Academy she doesn't have to deal with him again...and now...after 3 years in the force...he came back into her life....to make her misserable again....

Everyone else introduces themselves and went back to work. After Sir Cheng showed Kiu Wai where his office is, he went over to Mei Ling and told her to show Kiu Wai around the place since she's the oldest member here at this headquarter...she came aboard before the others...they refer to her as "dai su ti". She's really talented in every aspect. Mei Ling didn't like the idea that she had to spend personal time with Kiu Wai. But it was an order from Sir Cheng so she showed him around. Thinking he had forgotten who she is since he didn't talk much to her at all.

As they were coming close to end their tour and the day..."if you have any questions, feel free to ask me.." she told him. Her voice was as cold as ice. All that time she didnt' really make eye contact with him at all....she still fear/hate him.

"After 5 years, you still haven't change a bit Ms. Yung." he told her out of the blue.

She was shock that he even remember how long it's been..."I'm still the same old Yung Mei Ling since the Academy sir....and I see you're still the same you too..." she replied.

"Well, that's all I needed to know....thank you!!" he took off. Leaving her in suspense....

"What does he meant by that?...That's all he needed to know? ...about the place or about me?" she thought to herself. She turned the other way and headed back to her locker to get her stuff and leave the place.

At the gate...."Mei Ling!! it's Friday's night...arn't you going to hang out with us?" Tony asked.

"Yeah...come on....we're headed to the kareoke bar....let's go girl!!" Margie added.

Just before Mei Ling could answer them, Kiu Wai came out...

"Sir Miu...would you like to join us at the kareoke bar?" Tony asked Kiu Wai.

"It's not his type...Sir Miu doesn't party like we do..." Mei Ling answered on his behalf.

"You guys just go ahead and enjoy yourself....I have some paperwork to catch up on...thank you for asking..." he told them and took off.

"Whoahhhh....what was that dai su ti? You seem to know Sir Miu so well.....what's up?" Margie was curious....

"Nothing....it's a long story....nothing to tell though....thought we're going to kareoke tonite....so let's go..." she told them...avoiding the question.

They went out pretty late and got a bit drunk....Tony drop each one of them off at their apartment.

Mei Ling was a bit dizzy from all drink...she was buzz...but she's still ok....as she was getting to the entrance to her apartment...it's a nice apartment in Kowloon...she leaned on the wall and barfed a little....she didn't eat much earlier so her stomache was kinda upset. Didn't realize someone was standing behind her....and tapped on her shoulder...with her quick reaction she turned around and grab the hand as in defending herself. To her surprised it was Kiu Wai. He grabbed hers back and twisted hers instead. She lost her balance and fell into his arms.

Chapter2

"wohhh....are you ok?" Kiu Wai asked as he help her getting back on her feet.
"What are you doing here at my apartment?" Mei Ling quickly asked him. Her voice was a bit annoyed to see him around her territory.

"Oh I didn't know this place belong to you....I happen to live here too..." with that he left her and walked into the building.

She stomped her feet and pouted her face as she walked in behind him....really can't believe that he's staying here too....The elevator came and they walked in. Both reached for the button. Mei Ling pulled her hand back as she realized Kiu Wai was going for it. He glanced at her and push 10.

"OMG....can't believe this...he's staying on the same floor as me...." she think to herself....."Oh no...don't tell me it's the next door....someone just moved into that one...oh man....what kinda trick is this?...Darn it!! " she thought.

"Ding!!!" the elevator stop and the door open....Kiu Wai stepped out first and headed to his apartment....and no, it wasn't the one next to her. She sighed in relieve...."thank god!!" she said quietly and stepped out to her door. She opened the door and went inside. She headed straight to her bathroom for a nice hot shower since she reeks with alcohol. She spend a relaxing long time in the tub. After she was done, she put on a bathrobe and drying her hair with a towel. She reached to open the window to let the steam out and realized it was Kiu Wai apartment across from hers. He was in his bathroom taking off his shirt for a shower. At that same moment, he was standing at the window and saw Mei Ling on the other side.

Realizing Kiu Wai saw her as she sees him taking off his shirt, she quickly turned the other way and walked out of her bathroom. As for Kiu Wai he was surprised that his apartment can view hers.

"Can't believe this!!! why does he has to rent the one across from me....why can't it be on some other floors or other sides...why does it has to be within view....arghhhh..." she said to herself as she rushed off to bed.

The next morning....

Mei Ling got up as usual and headed out to work. Her normal routine...the only different thing was that she hope that she doesn't run into Kiu Wai at the elevator. She locked her apartment door and walked towards the elevator...looking at both sides of the hallway. Making sure Kiu Wai is not within sight. No sight of him so far...she sighed in relieve as the elevator door "ding". The door opened and she was about to head in...there stood Kiu Wai....he came in without realizing it has to go up to the 12th floor...and now it's heading down....

"Morning!!" he greeted her. His face was expressionless. He has a stern face. He doesn't smile much.

"Morning!!......sir..." she replied dissappointedly. She walked in and stood close to the door as to get out as quickly as she can. Both didn't say anything much. As soon as the elevator door opens, she rushed out to her car and drove off to work. Knowing she'll be seeing him again at work. "Oh well, Mei Ling...you just have to deal with it...he's back to haunt you and make your life misserable..." she told herself in the car.

At the CIA headquarter....

"Morning Dai Su Ti!!!" Margie greeted her as she stepped into the room.

"Morning...." her voice sounded sad and annoyed.

"What's wrong? usually, you're really perky in the morning...what's with the long face?...was it bc of too much drinks lastnight that you're still having a hangover?" Margie asked. Walked over and put her hand on Mei Ling's forehead.

"No...not that...I'm fine....got up on the wrong side of the bed that's all...." she forced a smile at the corner of her lips.

"Morning lovely angels!!!" Tony announced as he came into the room. "Wohhh....Dai Su ti....you don't look well this morning...." he added.

"Thanx alot Tony.....thanx for noticing how awful I look..." Mei Ling told him as she rolled her eyes at him.

"Dai Su Ti is not too happy today Tony...don't mess with her. She might chop you up and throw you out..." the other CIA agent said and they all laughed.

"Meet me at the conference room in 5 min...." Kiu Wai announced to them. Everyone rushed to the conference room.

"Sir!!!" they stood up and greeted him.

"There is an assignment for us ....the files in front of you have all the details..." Kiu Wai told them as he pop the screen open. "This is Kent Tong....on the outside he's a legal businessman in disco bars and restaurants. He has 10 joints that's currently up and running in Kowloon and MaCau. On the other hand...he's dealing heroin and cocaine. His operation is the biggest one that's running in our territory...the orders were for us to find a way to put an end to his operation..." he told them.

"So what do you want us to do sir??" Tony asked.

"I was informed that Kent Tong is a ladyman....he love to hang around pretty girls. He change girlfriends all the time. We need to send in an undercover to gather evidence to prosecute him...." Kiu Wai said to everyone.

They all looked around at each other. "Well, I know definitely it won't be one of us guys....so just you girls for this mission..." Tony told the girls.

"If you put on a wig and get a boop job, you'll do just fine too Tony..." Margie said jokingly....

"Oh that's a good one Margie...you got jokes now huh?" Tony told her...they all laughed...

"I already have someone in mind for this mission....Yung Mei Ling....are you up to this?" Kiu Wai looked at her.

"Me???You want me to go undercover as Kent Tong's girlfriend?" She asked him...surprised that he called on her....when they were in the Academy...he wouldn't let her be in any special task....

"Yes....I reviewed your file...and you're the best one in our force for this task...." Kiu Wai replied....

"If you want me to...then I will do as order...sir..." she told him.

"Good...I know you won't say no to this mission since you said you're still the same Yung Mei Ling..." Kiu Wai told her....."Here is your new ID...You're Yung Mei Ling....the new girl at one of Kent Tong's bar....The Dancing Pheonix...he often visited there....as in to get his attention on you is depend on your own....and you'll be reporting to me personally...I'll get in contact with you as you go along..." he told her.

"As for you ladies and gentlemen...your mission is to keep every aspect of Mei Ling task running smoothly..." he told the others.

"Yes Sir!!!" they replied....

"Starting tomorrow....you'll be staying at a place downtown ...closer to your work place in Kowloon....Margie will be your younger sister. She'll be there to help you along with your mission....you girls should head home and pack what you need and move into your new home immediately..." Kiu Wai told Mei Ling and Margie.

"Yes Sir!!" they replied.....

"Meeting adjourned!!! Everyone to their post.....I'll have more information and orders for you later on...." he said and left the room....

Mei Ling and Margie headed home, packed and moved into their new home.....Kiu Wai took them to their new apartment..."If you girls need anything...just contact me and let me know....here is my contact number..." he told them. After checking out the whole place himself...he left them to their new home.

"Wow....Dai Su Ti....you're the star of the show again....and you said he picked on you....this is a big mission and he assigned it to you....And you seemed to have something against him..." Margie told her.

"Well, I'm surprised myself....he didn't seem to have any confidence in me before....well, it was 5 years ago when we were in the Academy...he was ahead of me by one class...and he's supposed to be my Dai Su Huynh....he gave all the important missions to the others and not me....It seems like everything I do is not good enough for him....I worked harder to prove him wrong and graduated with honors in my class...." Mei Ling told Margie...

"From what you said...it seems to me like he really pay special attention to you since you're the only one he trained really well....It doesn't sound like the pick on you for nothing..." Margie replied....

Margie words kinda made Mei Ling think for a moment...she never see it in that aspect...she always have a fear and not good feelings towards Kiu Wai...."Anyways, it's getting late...we have a show to put on tomorrow until our mission is done...let's hit the sack..." Mei Ling changed the subject....

"Ok...I better go wash up first..." Margie agreed.

After they finished their personal hygiene, they headed to their bedrooms for bed. Margie fell asleep easily....she just hit the sack and dozed right off....

As for Mei Ling...she lied in her bed thinking about what Margie just said....If it wasn't bc of proving to KW that she can do everything successfully on her own, she wouldn't graduated with honors and be where she is now...he did help alot in training her to be a talented CIA agent....she kept tossing and turning..."Ok Mei Ling...you've hated him all these years and now why are you thinking differently of him....so what he did help you in your carreer...forget all about it and go to sleep....you have a task tomorrow...girl...get a grip and sleep!!" she told herself as she pull the covers over her head trying to sleep.

Chapter3

Several weeks had passed since Mei Ling went to work at Kent Tong's bar, The Dancing Pheonix, as a waitress. But there was no sign of Kent Tong anywhere. While Mei Ling was waiting on a table with all guys and they were teasing her...grabbing her, and she couldn't use her karate chops on them....Kiu Wai was there and came to her rescue...
"Let go of her!!" he firmly stated.

"Who are you?...it's not your business...get lost!!" said one of the guys.....

"I'm her boyfriend!!! and it's my business..." he told them..

"Oh...you got a boyfriend to defend you huh?" one of the guys said...."let see what your bf is made of..." he threw a punch at KW. KW blocked it and twisted the guy's arm with his karate move....at the moment, Kent Tong walked in and was watching the whole incident....

KW realizing Kent Tong is there so after he beat up the other guys, he turned to Mei Ling and yelled at her...."I told you not to work in this kinda place anymore, but you don't listen....see what kind of ppl around you?" he pretended to pick a fight and make a scene so Kent will notice Mei Ling.

Seeing the glare in his eyes, Mei Ling know what he was doing....."I don't have a choice!!! I have to support my sister through college...if you love me then it wouldn't matter where I work!!" she yelled at him back. They were making a really big scene in the bar.

"It's either you quit this place or we're through!!" KW told her.

"You can't tell me what to do!! Who do you think you are? I'm not engaged or married to you...why should I do what you want? Besides...I'm sick of being with you....y don't you just pack your stuff and get out!!!.." she screamed back.

"Fine!!! Have it your way....I will go!!" with that he took off....

Mei Ling ran to the back crying....it was just a little act they put on...but for some reason, tears were coming out of her eyes...and she doesn't know why she was feeling a bit hurt when he said "we're through".

Meanwhile, Kent Tong noticing Mei Ling beauty right away...her gorgeous big round eyes caught his attention...."Who's the girl?" he asked one of his men...

"She's the new waitress in here Boss....I'll fire her right away for making such a scene here today..." said the manager of the bar.

"No...let her stay...." Kent Tong smile as he went to his office in the back....

On his way back...he ran into Mei Ling as she came out from the bathroom. Pretending like she doesn't know who he is, she just walk passed him without looking at him.

"Hi!!" Kent smiled flirtily at her...

"Get lost!!" she told him.

"How dare you? Do you know who he is?" said Kent's bodyguard.

"Who cares? I don't want to know who he is..." she curtly replied.

The guard raised his hand as to slap her...but Kent put his hands up and stop him...."Eh.....just let her go....." he told the bodyguard and smiled....

"Huh!!" she gave him the evil eyes and walke to the front...

"I like her personality...very unique..." Kent Tong said as he looked after her.

"You like her boss? want me to get her to....." The bodyguard didn't even finish his sentence...."Slap!!" Kent smacked him across his face...."This girl is different...I want you to spy on her first...there is something about her that's not like other ordinary girl...." he told the him.

"Yes boss...right away...." the bodyguard told is men to spy on Mei Ling...

That nite...after leaving the bar, Mei Ling went home. KW was waiting for her at her apartment. As she stepped in, and closed the door behind her...."so how does it go?" he asked rite away.

"You scared me!! what are you doing here so late?...where is Margie?" Mei Ling was startled by his deep voice. She didn't expect him to be there.

"I have to pack my stuff remember?...Margie is out with Tony....they have to do something else tonite...so did you get his attention?" he asked her again.

"What do you think?...with a big scene like that who wouldn't notice..." she told him.

"Very good...." just then he realized there were someone spying on them with binoculars from the window accross the street...she walked over to her and grabbed her. Pretended like they're making up....Didn't know what he was doing...Mei Ling pushed him back...but he grabbed her hard and whisper in her ears...."Someone is spying on us so act along with me...." he kissed her lips after he said that and turned so that the spy could see them.

Mei Ling was feeling uneasy....she can't believe that he just did that....but she glanced from the corner of her eyes she can see the spy too....KW turned her the other way so his back was facing the spy...."So what are we going to do now?" she asked him...

"Just act normal like we're a real couple making up after a fight....I'm sure they'll leave after awhile...." KW told her. KW pretended to kiss her again and carried her to the bedroom....away from the window so the spy can't see them...
With the bedroom lights off...they looked out the crack in the blind to see if the spy was still there...and surely enough...they're still using their binoculars to look over at her place.

"Guess I have to stay until morning....you just go to bed...." he told her.

"You're not staying here are you?" She quickly asked him...

KW didn't answer her...he went over to her bed and grab the flat sheet off her mattress and spread it on the floor by the window...."Good nite..." he told her as he lied down.

ML just stood there looking at him....then she went into her closet and change to her lounge wear...and headed off to bed...she got on her bed looking at KW by the window...without a pillow or a blanket on him....she grab her other pillow and blanket in the closet and handed them to him..." Here...you're gonna catch a cold sleeping on the floor w/o a blanket..." she told him.

"Thank you..." he replied.

She headed back to bed....and still couldn't believe what had just happened today....he kissed her!##@....she turned the other way...facing the wall and hugging her pillow...trying to sleep...

As for KW...he wasn't really sleeping....he glanced over at ML...and he couldn't believe it himself...what he did.....how could he just acted so quick as to kiss her?...and he can still taste her sweet lips in his mouth...he closed his eyes and try to sleep....hoping morning come soon...........

Chapter4

Early the next morning....just as Margie came in from her other task.....KW walked out from Mei Ling's room.....
"Sir??? what are you doing here? and in Mei Ling's room? Margie was surprised/shocked....

Before KW could answer her, ML came out..."Marg..." they look at each other...dunno how/where/what to say....Knowing the spy is still there....KW turned and pecked ML on the cheek and left.....

Margie is really confused now......."what the heck is going on here?" she asked ML....

"Don't talk much....I'll tell you later....just act like you're my sister and come in my room......." ML told her.

Margie did as told...when they were in ML room...she saw the sheet and blanket on the floor by the window....."so what's going on ML?...why is Sir Miu sleeping in your room?" She's anxious to know.

ML told her about the whole thing......

"He did what? He didn't have to kiss you.....He could have just get into another BIG argument/fight with you and leave...." Margie told her.

ML was feeling a bit uneasy...what Margie said was true....and why did she let him do that too? she felt really stupid now....."Well, anyways...so where did you go?" she tried to change the subject.

"I went with Tony to see his mom....she's in the hospital..." Margie told her.

"I thought you had some other task to do.." ML to her.

"Well, we did at first...but the others got there and finished it up b4 we did...so I went with Tony..." Margie replied.

"Anyways, I better get going now....have to get back to work....and hopefully things will work out as plan...the sooner we get Kent Tong...the better....can't stand being a waitress at the bar...all kind of ppl tried to touch me...yuck!!!" she told Margie.

"I know....and you don't have to pretend to be Sir Miu gf...maybe x-gf from now on...." Margie said mockingly and quickly leave the room....

ML stood there and think for a min....."What the heck...I didn't slap him then...what am I think?...arghhh...." she took her change of clothes and went washing up for work.

Later that evening.....At the Dancing Pheonix...

KW showed up and this time .....he over did it....he make a really big argument with ML and even slapped her on her face...accusing her of seeing someone else....and broke up with her right there....

He didn't tell ML about his plan or anything like that...so as to make it look more real...and she was in a state of shock....she ran to the bathroom crying again...this time the tears was because KW slapped her kinda hard on her face...it hurts....you can see his hand prints on it too....and she has no clue what's the heck he's doing...."first he kissed me and now slapped me...y can't he just tell me what he wants to do first so I know what to do....the heck with him!!" she mumbled quietly....

And surely enough...Kent Tong was there and saw the whole thing....KW picked the perfect timing too...he knew when Kent Tong was coming and created all that.....

After she left work....her fone rang as she got into her car....it was KW....she was really upset...but picked up the fone anyways....

"Hello??!!?" her voice was cold.

"I'm sorry for what happened earlier today....but don't say much...the spy is still on you...so just listen for a min....Don't look....just keep on driving...Is your face ok now? I didn't mean to slap you that hard....but I'm sure Kent Tong will fall for all that and go after you.....I'll contact you when it's appropriate...." with that he hung up.

Knowing he's somewhere around/close to her to see all her move, she's upset and want to confront him...."what the heck? doesn't he have confident in me...why does he have to keep an eye on me too?" she hung up the fone and threw it over to the passenger's seat. Then drove home.

A couple days have passed...and surely enough, Kent Tong went after ML...at first ML played hard to get...besides she was supposed to be on a rebound from KW...then finally, it's the right timing to move in with the plan. she gained Kent tong's trust and he invited her to his place....

At ML apartment....ML and Margie was talking....

"This is it...he's inviting me over tonight and it's the perfect time for me to get some information from him....you contact Sir Miu and get ready...." ML told Margie....

Later that day....at the CIA special headquarter....all the spying equipment was hooked to ML....invisible microfone, video camera..tranquilizer gun...undetectable sleeping powder in her pin ...all kind of gadgets was given to her for her mission...She got a make-over..she look drop dead gorgeous in her baby blue off the shoulder flirty dress...her gun was strapped to her thigh...

"He's not easy to get...you have to be very careful....and if something doesnt' go right...I want you to abort right away..." KW told her as the last wire was strapped to her.

"Yes sir!! But I'm confident I can get the job done tonite..." she put the pin on her dress.

Chapter5

That night ML was picked up by Kent Tong's men to his place. The Mercedez was stopped in front of a huge mansion and pulled in through the gate. And surely enough...KW wasn't too far behind. He was in his black BMW Z4 convertible accesserized with all kind of gadgets. Just in case something go wrong with ML mission.
Inside the mansion.....

"It's a lovely place you got here..." ML complimented Kent Tong's place.

"Glad you like it....you look astonishing tonight Mei Ling...." He complimented her as he walked down from the the stairs....and signal the guards to leave.

"Thought you're having a party tonight?...where is everyone?" she asked him as she looked around and see no one else...only her and him.

"You're the party....I want to spend sometime with you...." Kent Tong approached her.

"Uhmmmm.......so it's just going to be you and me huh?" she hesitated....thought that there would be others around so her mission would be much easier...but now....just them two..how can she get away from him and search his office?...

Outside....KW overheard the guards talking...."man...is she gonna get it tonight...the boss really has his eyes on her..." one of them said to the other.

"Yeah....a man and a woman in the same place...who knows what's going to happen?" the other replied and both broke out laughing....

Overhearing that...KW was concerned....he evaded the guards and got into the gate. Hiding behind the trimmed bushes....

"Mei Ling...." his voice startled her....it was coming from the invisble ear piece that was placed in her ear...she spilled some red wine on her dress...."uhmmmm...is there a powder room here?" she quickly turned and asked Kent Tong...

"Yeah...up the stairs...to your right..." Kent Tong pointed up the stairs.

"Thanx....I'll just be a minute...." she smiled and left...
when she closed the door behind her, walked towards the far end of the bathroom and turned on the fossit to drown out her conversation with KW.....

"Where are you? there is a change in plan..." she talked to her pin...it's a microfone too....

"I know..." he replied....

"You know?? how do you know? I just found out after I arrived.....are you here?" she asked...a bit annoyed that he followed her....

"uhmmm....yes...I'm outside...I overheard the guards talking...so I just want to make sure you'll ok...." he told her.

"You still don't have confident in me...after all these years you still think I incapable...." she said in an angry way.

"This is not the time to be stubborn..Mei Ling...I think it might be dangerous for you....find an excuse and leave at once..." he ordered her.

"You know what? I'm going to get the info tonite...no matter if there's danger..." with that she turned off the fossit and went out. She happened to walked pass Kent Tong's office....she can see his computer is on....She went in and tried to open his files and download it.

Downstairs...Kent Tong was waiting impatiently for she took a little long upstairs. He got up from his sofa and headed up to see what's taken her so long.

She can hear footsteps coming from the stairs and onto the hallway.....but the files are almost done so she can't go..."come on....hurry up...." she whispered to the computer...just as Kent Tong open the door...the file was done and ML had just took it out from the drive.....

"Mei Ling? what are you doing in my office?" he was suspicious....

"Uhmmmmm...." she uttered.

"What's that you have behind your back?" he pointed at her hands...with that...he pulled out a gun and pointed at her..."Who are you? who send you here?" he questioned her.

ML forgot to turn off her microfone so KW can hear the whole conversation. He quickly shoot a cable line up the wall on the side of the manion and climb up.

"hand it over!!!" Kent Tong ordered ML.

"Hand what over? what are you talking about...."she was trying to slip the disketted into the back of her dress and switch it with a blank in her other hand.

"Don't play with me girl....hand it over now...." he raised his voice at her.

"Fine...here...." she handed him the blank....

"So you want to be with me to get my files huh..." he moved closer to the computer to check on the diskette....his gun and eyes were still on ML. She moved toward the door....

"It's a blank!! where is the one you downloaded? you better hand it over or else you're going to get it..." he told her with his finger on the trigger.

At that moment...KW climbed to the window and swung in...breaking the window with a crash sound and struggled with Kent Tong for the gun. The guards heard the noise and ran up the stairs. ML pulled out her gun from under her dress and started shoot at the guards as they approach. KW and Kent Tong was still fighting....KW knocked the gun off from Kent Tong's hand and it landed at the corner of the desk. They were fighting...Kent Tong is pretty good at karate himself and was throwing punches and kicks at KW...KW blocked them and fought back.

"Too many of them coming...I don't have enough ammunition to hold them back..." ML to KW....

"Hurry go down the cable..." he told her...

"How about you?" she asked ...

"That's an order...go now!!!" he commanded.

"I can't leave you here by yourself...." she told him...

"Now!! Mei Ling!!" as he threw a punch at Kent Tong's face and knocked him to the ground...KW picked up the gun from the desk and they both swung down the cable. ML went first and KW right behind her...he shoot at the guards as he went down...

They got to the ground but there were guards on the ground too and they were firing at each other.

"Mei Ling...watch out!!" he yelled and jumped on her knocking her to the ground to dodge a bullet...unfortunately he was shot at on his chest...close to the shoulder...."Urghhh"....

"Kiu Wai....are you ok?" she asked in concerned....

"Let's go..." he grabbed her hand and ran towards his car....it's bullet proof....and drove off...blood was coming out from his wound.

"Let me see your wound..." she told him...."you're bleeding too much...pull over I'll drive...." she continued.

"No time...they're right behind us...." he told her....trying to hang on to his consciousness..."Everyone go in!!" he commanded over his microfone to the others staking out on the road....

They cut off the chase and KW drove to the headquarter....He wasn't concerned about his injury...he just want to make sure the diskette is saved...He parked the car in front...

"You should go to the hospital for your wound...not here..." ML told him...still hanging onto his wound...at that moment...KW couldn't hang on anymore...he lost too much blood therefore he passed out....at the wheel...

"Kiu Wai?!!? Kiu Wai?!!?! ML shook him and got out of the car....."I need an ambulance right now!!" she yelled out to the security at the gate....As she open the driver door to get KW out...

"Yes Mam!!!" the security guy called an ambulance right away.

Her tiny body couldn't drag KW out of the seat....the ambulance arrived in no time....and the paramedics got KW on a stretcher and pulled him into the back...ML ride in the back with him....

"Kiu Wai...please don't let anything happen to you..." she murmured as she hold onto his hand.

The ambulance got them to the hospital at once and KW was taken to the ER for immediate care....ML was waiting outside the door...anticipating....

Chapter6

Outside the ER room....Several hours had passed....and it's almost the next morning...
"Mei Ling...how is Sir Miu?" Tony, Margie and the other CIA agents ran in.

"I don't know....he's still in there....he lost alot of blood..." she closed her eyes and shook her head as she dropped it to the floor.

"What happened? how did he get shot at?" Tony continued.

"It's all my fault...he told me to abort but I didn't listen.....Kent Tong caught me downloading his black files and was about to shoot me....Kiu Wai saved me...." she knitted her brows and sighed.

"All I know was that after you took off to Kent Tong place...Sir Miu told us to stake out at the nearby areas waiting for his orders....we thought he went back to headquarter...we didn't know he followed you..." Margie added...."but how did he know you're in trouble?"

"he heard me over the microfone....and..." just before she even finish her sentence...the ER light went off and the doctors came out....

Everyone rushed over.....especially Mei Ling...she was first to ask the question...."Is he alright Dr.?"

"He's over the critical situation....." replied the doctor...everyone sighed in relief...."but he has to be on physical therapy for awhile b4 he can hold a gun again...he fracture his right shoulder and it's affecting his hand movement....it's gonna take awhile until he fully recover....." the Dr. added.

"Can we see him now Dr.?" Margie asked.

"You can see him in the recovery unit.." the Dr. told them and left.

KW was pushed out from the ER to the recovery room....Everyone followed.

"Mei Ling...you've been tired all nite...y don't you go home...we'll look after Sir Miu..." Tony told her...."Marg...y don't you go with Mei Ling..." he turned to Margie...she nodded.

"No...I'm fine....I want to see him..."ML told them and headed into KW's room.

Everyone stood outside waiting....

She walked over to his bedside...."I'm sorry Sir...." she softly said...

"Mei Ling...it's too dangerous....abort..." KW murmured in his as he regaining his consciousness....

Hearing that made her feel even worst....all these time she thought he was being a jerk and doesn't appreciate her talent...but instead...he was looking after her and care for her....tears started rolling down her cheeks...."I'm sorry....I'm so sorry for not listening to you...Kiu Wai.." she told him in her low tone....as she hold his hand...

"Mei Ling..?? Why are you crying?" he looked at her with dazed eyes...he's still a bit sedated....

"I'm very sorry....I should have listen to you instead of being stubborn and cause you this..." she shook her head and tears dropped down from her big round eyes...

Just then the door opened....A good looking girl rushed right in...

"KW are you ok...I heard you're injured ....what happened..you have to be more careful..." said the girl...as she rushed over to his side.

Didn't know what's going on....and who the girl is, ML released KW's hand and stood up....looking at the girl and then to KW...."Uhmmmmmm....."

"I'm ok Jamie...." KW told the girl....she finally noticed ML standing there and looked at her then to KW...."Jamie, this is Mei Ling.." then he turned to ML .."She's an old friend of mine, Jamie..." he told her.

"Hi!!" said ML to Jamie...."I better get going now....nic meeting you..." then she turned to KW..."You should get lots of rest.." she smiled and left.

Outside the door....the other agents were wondering about the new girl...how she's relating to Sir Miu?....

"Who's that ML?" Margie asked as ML closed the door behind her.

"She's a friend of Sir Miu.." she replied..."I'm feeling a bit tired now...have to go home...I'll see you guys later today..." she waved and left the hospital.

"Well, since Sir Miu have his gf here already...no need for us to stick around..." said Tony to the others...

"How do you know she's his gf?" Margie quickly replied.

"Well, with a cute face like that...I would be her bf anytime..." said Tony jokingly....

"You would wouldn't ya??" Margie pinched him on his arm....

"Ouch!! I was just kidding...don't have to pinch so hard Marg..." said Tony as he rubbed his arm. Tony and Margie are dating...."well, it doesn't matter if she's his gf or not...but there is no reason for us to hang around....he's fine now...even Dai Su Ti left..." he shrugged his shoulder...

The others agreed...they all went in to see KW and went back to work....

"I'm ok Jamie...you don't have to stay ...I'm sure a busy girl like you have tons of shopping to do...don't have to keep me company..." KW told her.

"Why? Don't you want me hanging around and keep you company for awhile?" she said in a nhong nheo kinda way....

"If you want to then it's fine...but I'll be sleeping though..." he told her with a smirk on his face...

"Alright then...I'll come back tomorrow to see how you are... you take care now..." she touched his hand.

"Thank you!!" KW told her and shut his eyes as she leaves.

KW and Jamie knew each other 3 years....KW only sees her as a friend...but Jamie want to be more than a friend to him. She tried to become his gf for sometime...but he doesn't respond in the same way...

As for Mei Ling...instead of heading home...she headed straight to headquarter and left the diskette there in the safe. She's a very careful person regarding evidence...she know for sure Kent Tong would go after her and the diskette, therefore, it would be better if she turned it in right away. Plus, KW is hurt because of this case, so she can't let him down.

At the recovery room...KW closed his eyes for a min...suddenly he just woke up realizing it's not safe for ML to be on her own without protection....he called for Tony and Margie to check on ML.

Surely enough, Kent Tong sent out his men on ML. He found out where she lives and sent his men to staked out at her apartment. Just as ML arrived...she's on guard...knowing what kind of person Kent Tong is, he would go after her. She had her gun ready in hand as she open the door. Two men tried to grab her, she fought with them and put up a good fight. Just then, Tony and Margie arrived to help ML out and captured the 2 men.

The only thing Kent Tong didn't know about ML was that she's a CIA Agent. He thought she's just a regular cop...

Chapter7

The day after....
ML returned to work and reviewed the files. And surely enough...it's all the evidence they needed to go after Kent Tong. She came to the hospital after work to see KW....

"Knock knock!!"

"Come in..." said KW.

"Are you better today?" she asked him.

With a smile on face..."Yes...I'm much better today....thanx..." that was the first time she actually saw him smile....ususally, he's so stearn and unfriendly around her...all he does as giving orders...."So you got him booked?" he asked her....just so him....always about the case...

"Yes....I got enough evidence to put him behind bars....just waiting for the prosector to process his case....we booked him already...." She replied...she knew he would ask about the case.

"That's good....guess you really did it this time huh?" he told her...looking straight into her face. He had never done that...to her, he always looked pass her.

"Yeah...guess I did...but ..."

"Don't worry about it....I'll be just fine..." he already know what she was about to say. ML gave a semi smile and dropped her head to the floor....feeling guilty for thinking badly of KW and putting him in hospital like this...KW knew about his arm...he won't be able to hold a gun like he used to for awhile....and he has to do lots of physical therapy to get back...maybe not a 100%....but he tried not to show his pain and concern in front of anyone...especially ML....knowing her...she would blame herself forever if she knew how he feels.

"Kui Wai....look what I brought you!!" Jamie said as she opened the door....she doesn't usually knock. Being a rich girl...she thinks she own every place...she just make like no one needs there privacy...."Oh...hi!! Didn't expect anyone to be here so late..." she told ML.

"I came to see how Sir Miu is..." ML told her...."I'll leave you two alone..." she turned to KW and about to head out...

"Wait...Mei Ling...I still have some more things I want to go over with you..." he quickly told her....ML turned back towards him....and looked at Jamie...."uhhhmmmm"

KW looked at Jamie...."You don't mind do you?"

"Oh....o..k...guess I'll just leave this here then..." she wasn't too happy that KW told her to leave instead of ML...

"uhmmmm...don't you want to spend sometime with your gf?" she asked him....

"Jamie? oh she's not my gf...we're just real good friends..." KW told her.

For some reason, ML felt lighter after hearing KW said that...she doesn't know why she felt that way...but she does....like someone lifted a rock off her chest....inside she want to smile..but don't know why...

"So what do you want to talk to me about? The case is pretty much wrap up....I've told you everything..." ML told him....her brows slightly raised and her eyes were widen...waiting for him to replied....

"Oh....you did...didn't you....uhmmmm...." KW didn't know what to say....at that moment...he just know he wanted ML to stay....but don't know what to say to her now...he slightly looked at her then diverted his attention to his bed sheets....

Feeling a little queezy...."uhhmmmm...I'm sure you're hungry...let me pour you some soup your girl....your friend brought you..." ML told him and walked towards the table by his bed.

"Uhmmmm...thank you..." KW replied...for the first time he lost his cold coolness in front of her....She sensing a different vibre from him then b4....

"Here..." she handed him the bowl...."Becareful...it's hot!!" putting the bowl on his removable tray table...

KW couldn't use his right hand like b4...so he was trying to feed himself with his left hand...a bit awkward....

"Let me help you..." ML told him as she saw how awkward he is....she grab the bowl from the table and blew on the steam to cool it down a bit then sthingy feed him...both were feeling a bit funny...awkward...different...well..the different was mostly on ML....They didn't talk much after that....just smiled at each other....Her grudge for him seemes to dissipate into thin air....A total different new feeling.....something she never expected in this lifetime....

KW was in the hospital for 3 weeks. His recovery went well so it didn't take too long for him to get well after intensive therapy. While KW was in the therapy center practicing his hand and fingers movement with light weights.....

"You look much better today KW...." said Jamie as she walked towards him while he was sitting at a bench.

"Yeah...I feel much better too...guess it won't be long til I can use my gun again.." he said with a smile on his face.

"You need something to drink? Let me get you something..." Jamie offered...but just before she can go....

"Here is your lemonade..." ML walked over and handed to him. She had been around KW helping and encouraging him to continue with his therapy. There was a time that KW was down...the first couple of days of therapy, he couldn't control his movements and it annoyed him. For the first time in his life that he couldn't do something....and that something was so simple...that's eat him up. But luckily, ML was always around to encourage him. During the first week of his therapy, Jamie was out of the country...she went to Japan, trying to get him a nice gift something to cheer him up. So she wasn't around much.

"Thanx Mei Ling..." he grabbed the glass from ML's hand and took a sip.

"Oh....guess there is not much to do at the CIA headquarter huh?" Jamie was aggitated to see ML with KW.

"Actually, there are things I have to do....so you take it easy and don't give up...I'll see you later...." ML told KW and smiled then left.

"Guess what I brought you? Bet you don't even have a clue..." Jamie happily told KW as she pull the gift from her bag...."I got it from Japan..." It's the latest style computerized organizer....

"Wow....where did you get this?" KW was excited...he always love new gadgets/technology....

"In Japan of course...I was gone for a week...didn't you notice you haven't seen me for a week?" she asked him...a bit unhappy that he didn't even notice she wasn't around. Well, how could he...he has ML around all that time...he doesn't even have time to think of Jamie....

"Really? you were gone? I didn't even know.....sorry..." KW replied as he handed her back the organizer...."I couldn't possibly accept this...you went all that way...I think you could make use of it more than I can..." he told her.

"But I got it for you...." she pushed it back to him..."You're not going to make me upset now are you?" she asked. Her face was dissappointed and she was pouting.

"uhmmmm....ok....thanx..." he told her and put it on the table. He continue with his practice. Doesn't want to let ML down...she really wants him to get better and so does he. He's anxious to get back to the force.

Later that day...Jamie went to KW's apartment. Since he move in, she haven't been there so she thought she might stop over to see how he lives.

"Make yourself at home....I have to go take a shower...it's been a long day at the Therapy center..." he told her and headed to the bathroom...."There are sodas in the fridge...just help yourself.." he yelled out from his shower.

"This is a nice place you got here KW..." Jamie complimented his apartment...just then she noticed ML at her living room across from KW...oh that's really made her unhappy....every time she's with KW...ML is somewhere around.

KW came out from the shower. He put on a white T-shirt and jogging pants...."Yeah...it's the good thing I got this place...nice view from here..." he replied.

"I see....A really nice view too..." Jamie said sarcastically...she meant ML...."you surely get your view of hers from herer..." she mumbled...

"Did you say something?" he asked as he handed her a pop.

"No...nothing..." she smiled anh grabbed the pop and drink it....

On the other hand...ML just noticed Jamie and KW was at his apartment too....She tried not to be nosy and look ...but can't help it....she turned on her TV and couldn't concentrate on the show...she kept glancing over from the corner of her eyes....

While KW went to his room to take some pictures of old friends for Jamie to see, Jamie went to the window and rolled down the blinds.....she doesn't want to see ML...

"Here are the pics you wanted to see...." KW handed the pictures to Jamie as he sat down at the sofa...Jamie accidentally dropped the pics to the floor and both were reaching down to get it....

From ML's place...all she could see was shadows of KW and Jamie....to her, it looked like KW and Jamie were kissing...she got right up from her seat...shook her head...knitted her brows...her face was pouting...and she was really upset....she turned off the TV....

Meantime, KW noticed the blinds were down so he went over to rolled it up....and saw ML. He wanted to say hi...but ML gave him the evil eyes and went to her bedroom. KW stood there looking after her...and have no clue what's wrong...

After Jamie finished looking at the pictures...."It's getting late Jamie, I have to get up early for therapy tomorrow...let me drive you home..." KW told her.

"Oh...ok...thanx..." she put the pictures down on the coffee table and KW drove her home.

The next day at the Therapy center....KW didn't see ML at all..she didn't even come...and the day after that ...and after that.....When he got home...he didn't even run into her at the apartment building...and her blinds were always down...he didn't see her at all....

Finally, it's time for him to get back to the force and back to work....

It's time for the prosecutor and defense attorney to meet and debate about the case.....In a conference room at the CIA headquarter...

"Idy?? You're the defense attorney?" ML was surprised to see Idy as she enter the room.

Idy and ML are school mates. They went to the same school for a long time....but as they grew older, their interest diverted. Idy wanted to become a lawyer and ML want to be an agent. Thus, they lost contact for awhile.

"Mei Ling..long time no see.." Idy came over and greet ML..."My firm picked up the case and was given to me..." she added.

"You know he's a bastard....you shouldn't defend him at all girl.." ML told Idy...a bit annoyed that Idy would take the case.

"You know me ML....I don't look at the person...I only look at the case...Right now, I'm only doing my job...what kind of person he is is not important to me...I only do what I have to do..." Idy told ML...and walked back to her seat.

The prosector came into the room with KW...Noticing Idy as the defense attorney...

"So we meet again huh Idy?" said the prosecutor.

"This world is mighty small don't you think?" replied Idy.

"So I make it you two know each other well already?" KW injected.

"Who doesn't know about the flirtatious prosecutor, Andy Lau?" said Idy mockingly.

"Thanx...I didn't know I'm that famous...and thanx for the title..." Andy replied.

"Ok...since we all know each other, lets get down to business..." KW told them..."This is what we're charging him with...and you two just have to work it out...How you go about defending him is up to you Ms. Cheng.." KW told her....

"I'll have my case ready and we'll meet in court then...." Andy glanced over at Idy...

Chapter8

As everyone was leaving the conference room, KW went over to ML...she was grabbing her folders and about the head out too.
"Mei Ling....can I see you for a minute?" he softly said.

"Uhmmmm...I have lots of files to review.." she replied w/o looking straight at him....and she just headed out the door...didn't even give him a chance to say anything else. KW slightly raised his hand as to stop her...but too late, she walked out already.

He grabbed his files and headed back to his office....on his way to his office, he glanced at ML's desk...but she wasn't there.

After Idy and Andy had their little meeting with KW an ML.

The Next day...

ML showed up to work and noticed there is a huge bouquet of stargazer's lilly on her desk...she walked over and picked it up...

"Ok...who's leaving their stuff lying around on my table?" she asked looking at the girls. No one has sent her flowers before...so she thought one of the girls/agents left it on her desk be accident.

"That's not ours....it came this morning for you..." the girls replied.

ML so unbelieving, she looked around at the guys...."ok...which one of you guys playing with me?" she asked them...

"Dai su ty...we woudn't do that ...if we did...it wouldn't be that big though...that must have cost a bunch..." the guys replied....as they were laughing....

"OK then...if noone claim it...I'll toss it in the trash..." ML announced as she about to chuck it into the trash can...

"You don't like stargazer's lilly?" said Andy Lau as he walked in and over to her desk. Since he and Idy have a little bickering/misunderstanding, he found ML to be very attractive and unique. So he decided to persue her.

"It's yours?" ML asked as she looked at him. At the same time KW just walked in and saw the huge bouquet in ML's hand. He just slightly looked down and at Andy. Andy is an old friend of KW.

"Hi Andy!! Looking for me?" KW asked as he walked over.

"Uh....actually...no...I'm looking for her..." Andy replied pointing at ML.

KW glanced over at ML and unwillingly paste a smile on his lips..."oh I see..." with that he patted Andy on his shoulder and went to his office.

"So would you go to lunch with me tonite?" Andy said with a charming smile at her.

ML still have no clue about her feeling towards KW...and she thought that KW and Jamie are seeing each other, therefore, she gave Andy a chance.

"Alright..." replied ML.

They went out for a couple of weeks....

One evening Andy picked up ML from work and took her to a nice restaurant. They sat at a table by the screen...little did she knows...KW was there too with Jamie on the other side of the screen. She didn't see him...but he surely noticed her for her back was facing him. Jamie and ML sat back to back...divided by the screen while KW and Andy sat across from them. During the whole time, KW and ML didn't talk much with Jamie or Andy...Jamie was running her mouth the whole time. But KW wasn't really paying her any attention...he was looking across the screen as he saw Andy sat closer to ML and put his arms around her....At that time, KW was holding a glass of redwine and he accidentally spilled some on his suit jacket....

"Kui Wai...are you ok...you're not yourself today..." Jamie reached over to help him wipe up....

Hearing Jamie called out his name....Only then ML realized KW was on the other side....she turned around to look...and surely enough it was him....Andy noticed KW and Jamie, so he invited them over to sit together since they're still waiting for their order to come out.

During the course, ML was feeling uneasy having Andy keep putting his arms around her shoulder. And the thing that really makes her feel uneasy was KW was sitting right there. He doesn't look too happy...ML tried to moved away from Andy's reach. But the whole time, Jamie was really happy...she saw that ML is with Andy now...so she's much livelier...

After dinner, Andy took ML home and KW drove Jamie home. In KW's car.....

"Wow...ML is lucky huh...she got a real good catch...Andy is handsome and smart....they make a great couple don't you think?" Jamie told KW....

KW didn't reply to her comment...he stepped on the gas and drove to Jamie's house....he parked in front of her gate...."Goodnight Jamie..." he said to her...

"Don't you want to come in? My dad want to see you..." Jamie asked him...a little bit dissapointed that he didn't want to come in...

"It's kinda late...I have to get to work early tomorrow....Tell your dad some other time..." he told her...

"Ok...goodnite KW..." she closed his car door and walked in the gate...KW drove off as soon as Jamie got in the gate...

He went home...into his apartment ...he looked over at ML's place....but there was no light. He went in to take a shower and came out again...and still there is no light at her place. He was wondering what's taken Andy so long to drive her home? She should be home earlier than he since he had to drive the other way to drop Jamie off. He couldn't sleep therefore he sat at his sofa and turned on the the TV...

Finally, the lights at ML's place was on...he looked over to see if Andy is there...but all he saw was ML....She got in late and threw her purse on the couch...then she noticed KW at his living room....seems to her like he's watching TV...therefore, she went to her room to turn herself in.

As soon as ML was gone...KW looked at the clock...it's 10 passed midnight...."she's out late tonight.." he thought to himself....then decided to head off to bed...

Chapter9

The next morning....Saturday morning....
ML got up around noon. After she finished freshen up...in her tank top and pj pants....she walked out to the living room and rolled up the blind so the sun can come in. She noticed that Jamie was over at KW's house. Just as she was looking over.....Jamie pecked KW on his cheek and left his house....ML didn't know what happened earlier over at his place but...that peck seems to affect her somehow...she wasn't feeling too happy....

KW didn't notice ML at that time. ML was a bit upset and went watching TV for awhile.....it's about 4 o'clock in the evening....

"Ding dong!!" the doorbell rang....."Who's coming over without calling me first?" she was crouchy as she mumbled.

She open the door...it's Andy....dressed in tux....on his hands is a big pink box all wrapped up..."Hey!!" he greeted herwith a stunning smile....

"Whoahhhhh....where are you going? why so fancy?" she asked him....

"There is a charity ball tonite....would you come with me and be my guest?" Andy told her with a charming smile on his face.

"you didn't give me enough time....I don't have anything to wear..." she told him....

"Don't worry....here...I got it for you already...." he handed her the box....

She looked at him suspiciously as she take the box and opened it.....inside is a lilac evening gown.....

"Try it on.....I hope you like the color..." said Andy...

"How do you know this is my favorite color?" ML asked him.....

"I have a little help...." he replied smiling....

"It's Margie isn't it?" she gave him the look....

"Well....just put it on and let me see...." He pushed her a little....

She went in her room and tried it on....the dress is slim fitting....the top is a one shoulder strap on the left...leaving her right shoulder bare....there is a cape like chiffon draping on her left shoulder.....and the front side slit showing off her left leg.....her hair was put up in a french twist....She just look stunningly gorgeous....soft beauty....

She came out and Andy stood up from the sofa...."Wowwoaow...you look....whoahhh!!" he was speechless....

"What? I look funny huh?" she asked him...raising one eye brows....

"No no....you're stunning....." he quickly replied....no one has ever seen her all dressed up....not even KW...."here...this is for you too..." he handed her a crosage....lilac pinkish orchid accents with little babybreaths....

"Thank you!!" she smiled as she accepted it....instead of putting on her wrist...she tucked it at the bottom side of her hair....making her look even prettier....

"It's almost 6 o'clock..." looking at his watch..."shall we go?!?" he asked her as he put out his arm and escorted her out of her apartment.....

While they were waiting for the elevator.....Andy noticed KW coming towards them from the hallway...dressed in a black tux also....he look sooooooooooo hot....his strikingly masculine physique fill up the tux like a shining knight in armor....His hair was slick back...he is just plain stunningly handsome.....

The first thing KW notice was ML...she look drop dead gorgeous in her gown...it's the first time he saw her looking like that.....and of course vice versa....ML was surprised to see KW....so handsome in his tux...

"Hey KW!!!wowow....so where are you going looking like that?" Andy asked him with a big smile on his face....before KW can even answer him..."Going out with Jamie?" he added....

"uhmmmm yeah....Jamie invited me to a charity ball tonite..." KW replied....

"Hey...we're going to a charity ball too....maybe it's the same one as you guys..." said Andy....

KW smiled...."maybe...I think it's for the orphans in St.Johns hospital..."

"Yup!! that's the one..." Andy replied....

"Ding!!" the elevator opened....they walked in....ML was standing in the middle between KW and Andy....they didn't say anything to each other.....just stood there waiting for the elevator to open...."Ding" the door opened...

"We'll catch you later KW..." Andy waved his hand and took ML to his car....KW went to pick up Jamie...

KW got to Jamie's house and picked her up...they drove to the charity ball.....as the walked into the door...all the eyes went directly to Jamie...she was in a red evening gown....body fitting....strapless...with a red chiffon tail on the back....But KW didn't notice what all the others saw...he was busy looking around...he thought Andy and ML is already there since he had to go pick up Jamie....

They walked down the steps....then all of a sudden all eyes were diverted from Jamie to the door....seeing all the eyes weren't looking at her anymore...Jamie turned her head to see who it is that they were awing at....Andy and ML was standing there....KW turned to look too....when he saw them...his facial expression change....his smile was content...seeing ML....

Andy and ML steped down the stairs and joined KW and Jamie...

"Wow Jamie....you look astonishing tonite!!" Andy complimented her.....

"Thank you Andy...you're so sweet....you're strikingly handsome yourself..." Jamie replied with a smile....

"Hey guys!!! Glad you're here!!" said Idy as she greeted them....Idy and Jamie happened to be best friends....Jamie's dad own the firm that Idy work at....

"You look great girl!!" Idy told Jamie...then she turned to ML...."Wow...ML...I've never seen you all dress up before girl....you're...." Idy couldn't find a word to describe her...

"I know...isn't she drop dead gorgeous?" Andy finished it for Idy....

"yeah!! she is..." for the first time Idy agreed with Andy's comment...

"Thanx...." ML smiled...."You're always looking good Idy..."

"Ok...lets not just complementing each other girls....how aobut us? don't we look good too?" Andy interupted the girls....

"Of course KW is stunning Andy..." Jamie laughed as she said that....and they all went to their table....They share the same table and the whole time...ML and KW were glancing at each other....they went out to the floor dancing...ball room dancing....towards the end of the night...the band asked the guests to switch partners for fun....KW and ML got a chance to dance with each other....it happens to be a slow song too....

Feeling a little bit uncomfortable coz they're so close to each other....as he put his hand on her waist she felt like butterflies in her tummy....she didn't feel like that when she dance with Andy....at the same time...as KW holding her in his arms for the first time...he felt so comfortable....but the song seems to be over so quickly...

Jamie came over and cut in.....so that was the only time they dance together....

After the dance was over it was really late at night...they were headed out of the building to go home...standing in front of the entrance....

"Mei Ling...let me take you home..." Andy told her....

"It's ok...it's getting really late..besides...it's out of your way...you have to drive all the way back to this side after you drop me off...I can take cab...." she told him...with a smile...

"I can't let you go home by yourself!!" at that minute KW walked out with Jamie and Idy....Andy waved them over...."Hey KW...since you and ML are living in the same building, why don't you take her home and I take the other ladies home since they're on my way anyway....it would be more convient that way..." Andy suggested....

ML quickly replied..."it's ok...I can take a cab.."

"No...no...I don't want you to do that....just go with KW..." Andy slightly pushed her towards KW and rushed the other ladies off to his car before they have a chance to contest...as Andy and the girls got in his car and drove off, KW and ML stood there looking after them.....

"Uhmmmm....shall we go?" KW looked down at ML and motion her to his car....She walked with him to his car....

On the way home they drove past the beach...the scene look so inviting as the full moon was shining on the water.....they were so silent at first in the car...KW broke the ice...."Are you really tired?" he asked her...

"Uhmmm...no...not really...." she replied...

"Want to take a walk?" he asked as he look straight ahead at the road....

"uhmmm....sure..." she told him...

Then he swung around and pulled into the parking lot at the pier....they got out and walked down the beach.....the sight was just pure romantic...the rustling sounds of the waves hitting the shore and the soft cool breeze just added moment...making it memorable...

As they stood there staring into the darkness of the horizon and feeling the breeze....

"You look really beautiful tonite..." he broke the silent....as he look over at her...for the first time they actually look directly at each other....

"Thank you....you're very handsome in the tux...." she replied...a smile was pasted on her lips...They smiled... and for the first time she felt easy/natural around him....

Suddenly, the breeze got colder and she wrapped her hands over her arms(shivering)....KW saw her getting cold, he quickly took off his tux jacket and placed over her shoulders to keep her warm....ML look over his direction but not directly at him and smiled as she put her head down focusing on the sand(a bit shy)...they stood there for a couple more minutes.....

"Let's get back....I don't want you to catch a cold..." he softly told her....she smiled at him...and they headed back to his car....KW walking slightly behind her...as they walked back, she triped on a shell, twisted her ankle...and leaned forward...he caught her by reflux...."Are you ok?"

"I twisted my ankle..." she told him...

"Let me see...." he kneel down and look at her ankle...it's a bit inflamed....he got up and held her by her arms..."I'll carry you back to the car.." he told her....with that...he picked her up on his arms....one arm is under her upper body and the other is under her legs...she hang onto his neck as he carried her back.....ML felt a bit queezy....for the first time they were that close.....she was blushing...

They got into the car and drove home....KW carried her to her apartment...and they said good nite.....

Chapter10

The next morning......
"Ding dong!!" the doorbell woke her up...."who could it be so early in the morning..." she was still croggy...she went to open the door....

"Hey beautiful!!!" Andy said with a huge smile on his face...

"Andy? what are you doing here so early?" ML was still yawning b/c she and KW came in late lastnite...

"It's almost 11 am....what do you mean early? Get up and lets go...." he told her shoving her towards her bedroom/bathroom direction.....

"alrite alrite.....but where are we going?" she asked as she closed the door behind her....

"Idy and Jamie invited us to a picnic....." Andy told her...

"oh???..." she replied....not really want to go...

Andy look over at KW's window and saw KW came out to do his routine excercise......"Hey KW!!! You're still not dressed?" he yelled across the windows...

"huh? dressed for what?" KW asked clueless....

"what? Jamie didn't invite you to her picnic?...how odd...thought you would be the first one she call..." Andy answered in surprised....

KW didn't answer...just gave a little smirk on his face....and continue with his routine....

"Ding dong..." his door bell interrupted them...."oh let me see who that is..." he walked to the door and opened it...it was Jamie....she had called him all nite, but his fone was off....he turned off his cellphone and his home was off the hook...

"Jamie? What are you doing here?" KW asked.

"How come you didn't answer your fone lastnight and this morning?" she pouted....

"oh....so what is it you need?" KW asked her....

"I just wanted you to come to the picnic today....around 2 pm at the park...." she replied...still pouting.....

Knowing ML is going to be there ...so KW agreed to come....

At the picnic.....

Idy and Jamie was there already with some of there friends....Andy and ML arrived before KW did.....they sat down by the fire to bbq chicken wings....

When KW showed up, Jamie ran over to greet him....she happily threaded her arms into his and walked him over to the crowd.....like he belongs to her.....

KW looked at ML and her expression wasn't too happy....a bit uncomfortable....Andy was sitting next to her...he handed her the cooked wings...but she wasn't paying attention....it dropped on the ground....."are you ok?" Andy asked her seeing her not being attentive to him.....

"Oh I'm sorry...." she picked up the wings and tossed it in the trash can....

During the whole time, Jamie always hanging around KW...sitting next to him....feeding him....pouring his drinks...and make her little flirtatious moves on him....which really makes ML a bit unhappy...she didn't reallize that it's jealousy she felt.....

Next Friday, at the CIA headquarter....ML was kinda ticked off at KW now....she doesn't know if KW and Jamie are an item or not....it seems like they are and yet not...she had no clue.....

"Meet me in the conference room in 10 min!!" KW told them...his face was serious as he walked away with a folder in his hands....

"Wonder what's going on? Sir. Miu look really serious..." Margie told the others....

"Well, we'll find out in a min....let's go...he hated when you're late..." Tony told the others....

In the conference room...everyone was there already...waiting for KW....

"Ok ppl....we have another case at hand...this time it's going to be a little more work for us....." he announced...the screen popped up and he pointed at the girl in the picture....."This is Kitty (Lai) Tong....Kent Tong's younger sister....she came back to HK to take over her brother's operation...."

"It's only a girl....how hard could it be?" Tony interrupted...

"Don't be too sure of yourself....she's very deadly....her style is more brutal than her brother..." KW replied..."She runs all the operation over in Japan....and her name is not unheard off in the mafia world(hac dao)...." KW continued..."This mission we need an undercover to book her too...."

All eyes were looking at ML...."Not this time...." KW told them seeing everyone thinking it would be ML again...."Tony...we're counting on you on this one..." KW was looking at Tony...

"Me?? you want me to be the spy?" Tony was excited...he finally is in action...real action....KW nodded...."Sure thing...I mean..yes sir!!" he accepted the challenge....

"I want you to go after Kitty....gain her trust and get all the evidence you can on her operation....." KW told him...."but you have to be real careful....i heard her shooting skill is sharp..." KW added....

"cool....a real challenge then....I'm up to it sir..." Tony gladly replied....

"the rest of you will be alert to assist Tony in his mission....we start the operation in 72hrs(3 days...Monday)...Meeting ajourn!!" he told them....

At the end of the day...everyone was getting ready to head out....."Hey guys...I have to be away for awhile after Monday....lets go have a drink and hang out tonite!!" Tony suggested....

"Sure!!" the others replied....

"How about you dai su ty (ML)?" Tony asked her....

"Ok...sure..." ML replied....she wanted to drink a little anyways....so they all headed to the kareoke bar close by....their usual hang out place....

Everyone was having a good time....ML had 2 beers already...as he was drinking her 3rd one...she noticed KW at the door of the bar, he was looking around searching for someone...then a minute later Jamie showed up right behind him....Tony noticed KW at the door and waved to him..."Sir!! over here!!"

KW walked towards them....ML finished up her drink and ordered another one....

"Dai su ty....this is your 4th one already....don't drink so much..." Margie told her grabbing her beer.....

A bit buzz from gulping down the beer so fast..."I'm fine...it's nothing..." she replied as she grabbed the beer from Margie's hand and drink some more....half way finishing up the bottle, she pewked a bit for she haven't had any food in her system.....KW grabbed the beer from her hands.."That's enough....let me take you home..." he told her...

"I don't want to go!!" she told him...grabbed the beer back from his hand and finished it up....

"Come on.....let's go....you have to much already..." KW grabbed her arms from behind....

"What about me?" Jamie asked...a bit annoyed that KW is caring about ML than her....

"Tony and Margie...can you take Jamie home for me?" he turned towards them...

Tony and Margie looking at each other...."Sure thing sir.." Tony replied...

KW then pulled ML out of the bar to his car and drove her home....on the way, ML pewked all over his car....she vomitted so much that she was soo drained and fell asleep....When they got to the apartment building...KW carried her to her apartment....but he doesn't have the key...so he took her to his apartment instead....

Laid her down on is bed and walked to the bathroom to get a hot towel for her head....he sat down on the bed next to her and placed the hot towel on her forehead.....the heat from the towel woke ML up..."Uhhhmmm...." she moaned as she felt the tremendous headache and the heat....she put one hand up to take the towel off, but KW stopped her and pressed the towel back on her head....She opened her dazed eyes and saw a fuzzy image of KW...she thought she was dreaming...."Kiu Wai......y? y can't I just be like before?...Misunderstand you and hate you???...Y am I feeling like this?...y do I have to have feelings for you?" she murmured and slowly fell asleep....

KW was surprised to hear ML saying all that...but he was really glad to hear that though....he smiled...and put his hand on her face to wipe away the strands of hair covering her face....as he look at how cute she look...all drunk..."Mei Ling...I love you..." he softly said and bent down to kiss her on her cheek...."sweet dreams my angel..." he whispered...as he about to get up and headed for the couch, ML woke up (still drunk and thought she was dreaming)...she grabbed his arm ..."Don't go....stay with me..." she uttered...and then closed her eyes...falling asleep again...

KW looked at her...and sat there for sometime...finally he got tired and decided to lay down next to her and he closed his eyes going to sleep..

Chapter11

As the glow of sun ray sipping through the window shining on her face, ML squinted her eyes and put her left hand on her head feeling her tremendous headache from the hang-over....She turned towards the side...still closing her eyes....thinking she's in her room hugging her bodypillow....her left hand and left leg were hugging it...Suddenly, she realized that it wasn't her pillow she's hugging...she felt the body heat...she qickly looked up to see who it is....At the same moment, KW was wakened by her stir....their lips were touching as she looked up and he was looking down at her....She was shocked to see him...and pulled back instantly.....she couldn't believe it...she was lying on his left hand......they sat up...feeling awkward...
"Uhmmmm...." they were speechless.....No one knew what to say...KW still keep his cool look....but you can see a little smirk at the corner of his lips...

"You must be hungry....I'm gonna fix some breakfast..." he broke the ice...and lifted the blanket heading towards the door....he turned around as he reached the door..."I left a new toothbrush and towel in the bathroom for you.." he gently told her and headed out to the kitchen....

ML was still shock...she didn't know what had happened...still sitting on the bed trying to register all this...and KW didn't really try to explain anything...it's not his nature to do so...she looked down at her clothes and saw that she's still wearing the same clothe as yesterday...and looked towards the door...remembering what KW had on as he walked out...his same clothe as lastnight...therefore..she figured nothing happened btw them...with that she lifted the blanket off her legs and made her way to the bathroom to wash up....

Outside in the kitchen, KW fixed breakfast...eggs, sausages,and toast...just as he placed the plates on the table....

"Ding Dong!!" someone was at the door..."Who could it be so early in the morning.." he thought to himself as he went for the door and opened it...."Jamie??" He was surprised to see her that early....

"How come you never answer your fone anymore??? I called you lastnight and all I got was your voicemail??" she repremanded....she was upset at him for leaving her at the bar lastnight....The thing was that, KW didn't invite her to the bar. He ran into her on his way out from work...and she insisted to come along....

At that moment, ML came out from his bathroom....The girls were staring at each other....Jamie was stunned to see ML here...in KW's apartment...so early...and she's coming out from his bedroom direction....She quickly looked at KW..."What's going on??" she asked...her tone was real pissed...

Before KW could say anything...."uhmmmm...I'm gonna go home now..." ML softly said as she made her way towards the door and headed out. KW looked at ML direction...like trying to stop her...but it was too late she already closed the door behinid her....

Jamie still stood there dumbfounded...waiting for KW explanation....but he didn't give her any....no need to...He has no reason to explain anything to her anyhow...

ML went back to her apartment....feeling all confused....don't know what had happened or how she feels about KW....one thing for sure, she didn't slap him when she woke up and found him lying with her...on his bed....She decided to take a cold shower to wake herself up and washed up from all the stinking alcohol and smell of pewk on her....When she was done with the shower, she went outside to the living room and turned on the TV...Her blinds were up...she could see KW...but Jamie was nowhere in sight...She quickly walked over and put her blinds down...she's too ambarassed to face him....

"Ding Dong..." she went to see who it was at her door....It's Margie....

"Hey girl!! you feeling alrite? I called you lastnight but no one answer.." Margie told her as she stepped inside and closed the door behind her...

ML didn't say anything.....

"Are you ok....you had a little too much drink lastnight...I was worried...." she walked over to ML...ML back was facing her...she was walking back to her spot at the sofa...."Well...guess you were totally out that's why you didn't pick up your fone.." Margie added as she came over and sat down next to ML on sofa...

"You know what Marg....want to take a hike with me? I want to get some fresh air..." ML asked ...changing the subject...besides, she doesn't want to stay in her apartment...knowing KW is on the other side....

"Sure...but I'm not dressed for it...." Margie told her...she was in skirt...mini skirt...

"You can borrow mine..." ML told her and headed to her room and they changed into their jogging suits...

While they were running along, Margie noticed KW...he was hiking too...in the opposite direction...heading towards them..."Hi Sir!!" Margie waved....As soon as ML saw KW...she turned the other way....

"Hey it's sir Miu..."Margie thought ML was still rite there beside her....then noticed ML headed the other way....Margie ran after her...

As for KW...he knows why ML did that...so he leave them alone and headed another direction....

"Hey!! wait up!!" Margie yelled to ML...when she catch up with her..."what's wrong girl??? she halted ML to a stop...ML turned to face Margie and sighed.....she decided to tell Margie what happened lastnight...since Margie is her bestfriends anyhow.....They sat down at a bench and after ML told Margie about the incident....

"What??? you and sir....he took you to his apartment and slept with you?" Margie shrieked.....

"No...no...we didn't sleep together....." ML justified right away....."He was just lying next to me....that's all..." she continued..."Maybe I shouldn't have told you in the first place..." she got up and headed off....

"Hey...wait...I was just kidding girl....don't be so cranky...." Margie chased after her with a smile on her face..."but you know what? Sir is not bad looking at all...in matter of fact he's really handsome....you look good with him too.." Margie teased ML then started running away....ML chased her trying to hit her....

Chapter 12

The next day at the CIA headquarter....Everything is as normal....the usual fone calls, the digging of files...the open cases......but somehow....ML does'nt feel the same...her heart seems to beat faster everytime someone mention "Sir Miu". ML dropped some files on the floor. She bent down to pick them up....while she was down there, she saw a pair of man's shoes facing her....She closed her eyes thinking "omg....what does he wants from me?" she took in a deep breath to get courage to face him....

"Not too thrill to see me huh?" said Andy with that charming smile of his....

"Oh it's you.." ML said in relief....she put her files on the table....

"I'll just take that as a 'I'm so happy to see you Andy' " he teased her.... ML just smiled...At that very moment KW walked in. The first thing he does was looking at ML's expression.

"Hey KW!!" said Andy as he noticed KW

"Oh hi Andy..." KW's voice wasn't too enthused either.....he forced a smile

"What's wrong with you two?" Andy was just kidding......since both KW and ML were acting a bit not themselves today.....

"Nothing...." both ML and KW said at the same time.....KW looked over at ML....but she turned away....."I have some cases to follow up with....I'll see you later Andy..." he patted Andy on his shoulder....Seeing her uncomfortable behavior, KW excused himself and went to his office...ML peeked at him as he walked away......

"The same old KW....always so devoted to his work....." Andy commented.....then he turned back to ML...."So...want to grab some lunch?" He smiled flirtatiously at her.... ML smiled forcefully and left with Andy...During their luncheon, ML didnt' really talk much at all...she was deep in her thought.....While Andy is running his mouth like there is no tomorrow...

"Is there something wrong ML?" he finally asked since he can see the difference in ML's character....

"Huh?.." ML finally tuned back to reality and looked at Andy....She knows that for sure she has something for KW....and it's much stronger than what she's feeling with Andy....She doesn't get that butterfly when she's around Andy....but when KW is around....it's all fluttery in the air.....ML looked down at her untouched food while she was poking at it with her fork.....she let out a heavy sigh...... "Andy....there is something I need to talk to you about..." she finally have the courage to let it out...

"Yes??..." Andy put his fork down and picked up his wine glass as he was looking straight at ML....

"You're a great guy.....and you've been very nice to me.....any girl would be so lucky to have you as a bf...." she paused....looking down at her food again...

"But you don't feel so lucky though...." Andy added as he put down his wine glass.....he looked down as he let out a sigh....with a forced smile pasted on his lips....

ML feeling all so bad.....she was speechless.....didn't know what to say to him.....

"You found your dream man?" Andy continued.......ML still silent...."Is it KW?" Andy added....that made ML looked up right away.....but still couldn't say anything...."So it is..." he leaned back to his chair.....

"I'm so sorry Andy.....I didn't mean this to happen.....I honestly don't know how I feel.....or where I stand in his heart...." ML blurted out..... her face was all confused.....

"I think I do though......I saw KW a couple days ago...we were talking....I asked him if he found his dream girl....he said yes.....but when I asked him if it's Jamie....he said he only sees her as a friend and nothing more...." Andy paused for a second....ML looked at him attentively....he took in a big breath....and continued...."during our conversation....your name comes up quite often....I don't think KW even realized that he talked that much about you...."

"I'm sorry Andy....are you mad at me?" ML asked

"Well....I'm just a bit dissapointed that our relationship come to an end....." he said with a heavy sigh...making ML feeling even worst....."but atleast we still could be friends right?" he added with a charming smile....that lifted ML heart tremendously.....

"you serious??? " she asked innocently....

"oh come on....we're mature adult.....if we know that we can't go further than friendship why force ourselves....rite?" He joking with her...."No seriously.....KW is a great guy.....I can see that you two have alot in common...." he smiled at her....

"Thank you Andy!!" ML smiled happily....since Andy is so understanding......

"since we're not dating anymore.....this lunch is your treat..." Andy joking with her again.....they laughed.....a relief one.....but Andy ended up with the bill after all...he can't let a lady pay for his meal....

He drove her back to he CIA headquarter......at the same time.....Idy was just coming out from the gate.....she didn't have her car today....it was in the repair shop.....

"Hey gorgeous!! can I give you a lift?" he asked in a flirting way......

"You always such a flirt...." Idy said as she stepped into his car.....

ML turned around as she caught Andy winking at her as he pulled off....telling her it's ok......life goes on.....she just shook her head with a smile on her face...this time it wasn't pasted....she felt so much better....

As the month progressed, Tony is on with his mission in pursuing Kitty Tong(Lai). All the agents were staking out to assisti Tony in his task....Kitty Tong and her men were meeting with other cocaine buyers at an abandon warehouse....Tony was one of her men..... In the course of the deal.....a gunshot broke out...then everyone started shooting at the other.....Tony took the bullet for Kitty as it was coming her way.....he was shot in his left shoulder and was bleeding quite alot. Kitty took her gun and shoot back at the other gang.....

After that incident...she have more trust in Tony.....and he became her right hand man....

At the CIA headquarter.....

"Do you think Tony and Kitty are??" said one of the female agents as she and the others were looking at a magazine with Tony and Kitty picture on the front page. They seemed very close.....

"Put that away..." ML signaled them as she noticed Margie coming in....Margie been very unhappy lately.....eversince rumors about Tony and Kitty were about. "Marg....are you ok girl? want to grab something to eat?" ML asked her...

"I'm ok.....I'm not hungry..." Margie replied...

"Marg...you lost a lot of weight lately...and you hardly take a break....your mom been calling me about you......" ML told her...

Margie walked over to her table.....she picked up the magazine of Tony and Kitty.....someone carelessly forgot to put it away by accident....she just threw it in the trash.....and stormed out.....at that same time...KW walked in as Margie ran passed him.....

"Margie...what's going on?" KW didn't even have the chance to finish his question Margie was gone.....he looked over at ML....

"Marg!!" ML looked angrily at the others as she ran after her.....KW went with her....They chased after Margie to outside...but lost trace of her....."oh where can she be?" ML was worried....she had never seen Margie like this before.....Tony's mission has really affected her tremendously....

"Let take my car......we'll look for her..." KW suggested as his car was parked right in front off the place...

"Ummmm" ML nodded...and went with him......"if it wasn't because of you guys are so unstable, Margie wouldn't be like this..." ML blurted out....

"Us guys being unstable?? " KW repeated what she just said as he glanced over at her....

"Yeah....if Tony wasn't a flirt all the time when they were dating...maybe Marg won't feel so insecure right now about his rumor with Kitty..." ML was upset.....

"Well...that's just Tony....." KW said....his eyes were fixated on the road ....

"Oh don't say it like you're not the same...you and Jamie..." ML quickly said without thinking as she caught herself.......it has a jealous twang to it.....

KW looked over at her....."Jamie and I?" he questioned her....."Jamie and I are just friends...." he justified her ...."Unlike you and Andy..." he added....with a jealous tone too....

"Andy and I are just friends..." she told him....KW looked over at her.....ML didn't know why she told him that......luckily her cell phone rang.....and she quickly picked up.....it was Margie's mom.....Margie went home already...she wasn't too happy so her mom called ML to ask what's wrong.....ML told her not to worry......She'll be over tonite to see Margie.....and they hung up.....

"Marg is home now.....we don't have to look for her anymore....we can go back to work..." ML changed the subject....KW turned the car around...but he wasn't heading back to the headquarter....

"Where are you taking me?" ML asked as she realized that they weren't going back...she looked over at him.....

"we need to talk...." he answered her as his eyes were still on the road.....

"there is nothing to talk about...." she said as she looked out the window.....

"oh really? that's not what I heard from Andy..." he replied as he pulled the car into the parking lot of a nearby park.... ML looked over at him and quickly looked the other way...as the car came to a stop...she opened the door....but before she could leave......he already grabbed her hand and held her back.....as she turned her head towards him....he just pulled her closer to him and kissed her before she could even say anything....

ML pushed him....but then.....she gave into him....after their passionate kiss....he pulled his lips away.....his hands on her shoulders...still looking deeply into her eyes....."does that clarify everything for you?" he asked with that charming genuine smile on his lips...ML shyly looked towards the side with her head down at the seat.....

At that very moment....KW's fone rang.....it's from the headquarter......urgent news regarding Kitty Tong's new drug deals...."We're coming right away..." KW told the person on the other line...His face changed quickly...

"what's wrong?" ML asked....

"Tony might be in real danger.....we have to get back quickly......" He told her....as he pulled out of the parking lot....he looked over at her....and placed his hand on hers...holding hers while he drove off....ML didn't object....

The information was rite on the T... KW..ML..and the other CIA agents staked out at the Tong's residence for several nights already. This is their 4th nights as they take turns... KW and ML were about to take their break from 3 consective nights in a row already.....the actions begin....Several dark shadows were spotted on the roof....they moved very swiftly...well trained...

Inside the Tong's residence...in Kitty's office....She ordered the other men to be more careful for she heard of the assassination herself....only her and Tony left in the office...

"come with me.." she told him as she slightly touched a switch under her table. A huge painting in the back of her slid open....she walked over and motioned Tony to follow....inside...there was a small safe at the wall....she opened it and took out a mini disc...and handed to Tony...."This is top secret data...I can only trust you to take good care of it....take it and leave at once....it's too dangerous around here....." she looked into his eyes with all the trust in him....That only makes Tony feels even worst...coz he's here for that...and it's not safe keeping that he has...it's safe booking her that he has to do....his heart sank as the thought of betraying her ran acrossed his head....

"If I'm leaving, you're coming with me..." he grabbed her hand....At that very instant a silent gunshot hit the safe door....Tony grabbed Kitty and hit the floor...he took out his gun and pulled her behind him....he has no clue where the shot came from......they stayed low and made their way out of the secret chamber....

Outside....gunshots were exchanged between the CIA and the shadow people....KW and ML rushed into the house...with their guns at hand...they searched for Tony and Kitty.....2 dark figures swung down from the roof top on a rope....they seemed to be ninjas. They kicked the guns out of KW's and ML's hand as they landed on the ground... KW and ML fists fought with them...kicks and punches were exchanged....they made it onto the winding staircase....ML was kicked ...she grabbed onto the rail and was hanging as the inja person trying to knock her off....At that instant...KW was fighting with the other ninja...he kicked him...and rushed over to recue ML.....He jumped onto the rail and swing his whole body in a 180 degrees kick at the one who's trying to make ML fall.....KW quickly grabbed ML's hand before she slip and pulled her up....

While KW and ML were fighting the ninjas....Tony and Kitty rushed out of the house....Margie just got to the site as Tony and Kitty rushed out....Seeing Margie...Tony instantly let go of Kitty's hand.....that instant that they were staring at each other speechless.....Margie saw a gunman on the roof top...she quickly jumped on Tony and pushed him down.....at that very moment....Kitty fell to the ground...she was shot from behind....the bullet went through ther chest cavity.....if Margie didn't pushed Tony out of the way...he would have been hit too... The gunman on the rooftop was shot by the other CIA.....

"NOOOOOOOOOO!!!" Tony screamed as he rushed over to Kitty half conscious body...."Please no..." he murmured... he supported her body in his arms....

"So...you....are...." her weak words was so faint.....as she looked at him ...and passed out....she couldn't wait for his answer.....the bullet had went right through her heart....she was gone....Tony was so devasted....for he did have some feelings for Kitty as well.....He was so confused about the whole thing.....KW and ML rushed out of the house to find Tony carrying Kitty dead body and walked off.....Margie stood there with tears rolled down her eyes...looking at Tony's direction.....KW and ML exchanged a sad look.....then ML walked over to Margie and patted her lightly on her shoulder....."give him sometime Margie....everything will be alrite.." was all that ML could say at that moment...though she told Margie that....but inside...all she could do is hope for the best for her best friends.....

Final Chapter...

After the Kitty Tong incident....Margie and Tony decided to get back together....and they will
take more time to understand each other....as for KW and ML, they want to keep their relationship a secret from the force since at the beginning ML always had a feud going on with KW...she doesn't want her fellow agents to laugh at her. The only one that knows about their relationship were Margie and Tony...

They headed to work as usual...though KW drove ML...but one walked in first and the other came in a bit later...to make it like they didn't come together....They did their daily routines...around lunch time, ML went down to the cafeteria for lunch...KW was already down there....sitting at a table with the others....ML was carrying her tray over and there was only 2 seats avaible...one next to KW and the other one was on the other side...She about to head to the other side...then the others broke out laughing real loud....

"Ok..come on Dai Su Ty....stop pretending...just sit next to Sir....we know about you two love birds already...stop playing..." one of the guys said...they all gathered around ML and KW...pushed them together...KW hold ML as she was pushed towards him ...he looked at her and smiled.....that was the first time the others saw him smile so happily and freely....

"Ok guys...that's enough...stop playing Sir and Dai Su Ty..." Tony said as he and Margie walking towards them....

ML gave Margie the look....knowing she couldn't keep the lid on.....

"Don't look at me like that!!...sooner or later you have to get out of the closet girl...." Margie laughed....

After work that day....KW drove ML home...she came over to his apartment helping him fold his laundry....she dropped some on the floor next to his bed...as she sat down to pick them up, she noticed a box under his bed...she pulled it out and found a notebook/diary in there....she opened it...the first page was a picture of her and KW...it was their graduation picture from the academy magazine...they were the 2 that graduated with honor in their individual classes...he was one class ahead of hers. She didn't keep the magazine since she hated his guts during that time...seeing his pix ticked her off...so she threw it away. She was really surprised that he kept it all these years...it's a little more than 6 years now...since he took over the head of CIA position, it's over a year already. Then she flipped the page and read some of what he wrote....

While she was reading, KW walked in and saw her sitting on the floor next to his bed...her back was facing him...she turned around as she heard his footstep...He saw his diary in her hand and rushed over to grab it...but she sprang right up and ran to the other corner of his room....still trying to read more...He came over...trying to take his book back...his arms were wrapped around her as her back was pressed against his chest....She put the book out of his reach and tilted her head towards him...her back is still pressed against his chest.......with a smile on her face..the kind that says "awe...I know what you've been hiding...your secret is out..."

"So all this time I thought you don't care and look down on me, I was wrong huh?!?!" she told him...that same smile was still pasted on her lips....

KW face was the kind that said..."Ok...you got me..."...he gave her a smile....and looked into her eyes.....didn't say anything yet....

"So tell me...when did you fall for me?" she continued..."was it the time that I ran into you and knocked all your files to the ground and made you late to your meeting with the captain....and he punished you for it?" she looked at him waiting for his answer....he still have his arms around her....

He didn't say anything....but she knew....and that smile was still prolonging on her lips....he looked at her smile and kissed her on the lips...it was a light feathery kiss...he pulled back to look at her..."marry me?" he softly said as he looked into her beautiful round eyes...
She didn't answer...but her smile changed into a bit shy one.....Then he kissed her again..it was deeper....more passionate...

she turned her body around facing him..."Is that how you propose to me?" she asked still smiling and looking deep into his eyes....

"Just say yes..." he told her..his deep manly voice ws so demanding.....she looked at him with one brow raised...as it was saying..."are you sure??"....With that...he kissed her again...he held her tighter and she has her arms wrapped around his neck...In the heat of the moment, they made their way towards the bed...still liplocking...he laid her down on the bed and pushed all the laundry to the floor.............And that was the night they'll never forget.....
