Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan...CLH The Next Generation

Heeheh....ok gals....here is my next fanfic.....it's about CLH and SC's son...Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan.....So Tinh Quan.

The story will begin with So Dai Ca and Tieu Tinh decided to travel around and enjoy the beautiful sceneries by themselves. Leaving their only son to experience giang ho on his own...During this time,So Tinh Quan is about 18/19 years old. He is a man now. So Luu Huong have taught him all that he knows...his highly regard kinh cong....his dart kung fu = dan chi than cong...his ability to take anything from anyone = nghe an cap.... and most of all...his charm...well, it was inherited from his dad...and the wittiness from his mom...

Before So Luu Huong & Tieu Tinh take off, she gave him her symbol of her princess status so he can get the king's force to help him when he finds it necessary. After they said goodbyes....don't know when they'll meet again, So Luu Huong and Tieu Tinh took off on their ship....they gave a different one to So Tinh Quan.

So Tinh Quan has his own specialty skill too...it's playing a jade flute that mazmurized the listener and he uses the flute in his kung fu ...thus the ppl in giang ho called him Ngo Tieu Lang Quan....(The Green jade flute player)

WHOAH...I HOPE I CAN REMEMBER ALL THIS...HEHEHE....

OK..here is a little history of Tan So Yen...

She is the daughter of a highly respected kung fu master, Tan Thien Vuong. Due to an unfortunate mishap, her parents were assinated by an unknown force whe she was little ~ 6 years old. She was hidden by her parents under a secret tunnel in their bedroom, so her life was spared. She vowed to revenge for her parents. Tan Thien Vuong left her all that he knows...his most deadly kung fu styles. Her specialties are throwing darts, in a form of lilac orchids and an indigo stance which could be constricted and elongated with a twist at the lock that only she knew how to operate it. She loves the color of lilac/purple...that's all she wear...all her outfits are in some shades of purple. And she always have a little lilac orchid hairpin in her hair...it was given to her by her mom. She value that the most. Because of her outfits and dart skills...ppl referred to her as Tu Y Lan Tram....(The lilac girl with lilac orchid darts)

Though her kung is good...but in comparing to So Tinh Quan...she is not comparable. He is much better/higher.

Before CLH and Tieu Tinh left...they told him about the meeting that they and CLH's sisters made 16 years ago. They were supposed to meet the girls and their kids in a town not too far from where their ship is docked....in a big town called Co Thanh at the inn, Hoa Tuu Lau. Thus, So Tinh Quan set forth to the meeting place to relay his parents message....they won't be able to make it.

Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan was dressed in white with a tint of blue chiffon like a cape. His hair was done some what like his dad....with a ribbon tied to the back...(just imagine CLH)
On his way he encounter a fighting incident. A girl dressed in lilac/purple chiffon was fighting against a bunch of men. They surrounded her...Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan jumped right in to help her....he thought she was a damsel in distress....but after he kicked all the men to the ground, she didn't even thank him. Instead she scolded at him....

"Who ask you to be so nosy?!! I could have test out my new move on them....now see what you done...you know how hard it is for me to get them to attack me?!?!" she yelled at him....folding her hands together and turning the other way facing the wounded men on the ground....."a bunch of useless..." she sneered at them.

"Tieu co nuong....I saved you and you're ungrateful?" he shook his head...tisk tisk...

"Aw...you ruin my intention and expect me to thank you? I don't think so....just stay far away from me as possible the next time I see you ....I won't be nice...." she stuck her face up in the air, sneered at him and left....

Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan shook his head and smiled for he has never met a weird girl like that...she has quite a unique character. He didn't follow her...instead he headed to Co Thanh to meet with his adopted aunties and their daughters. All 3 of them have daughters.

At Hoa Tuu Lau, the girls and their daughters has been there waiting for CLH, Tieu Tinh, and So Tinh Quan (Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan). As he walked up the stairs to meet them....a dart was flying towards him. He quickly caught it and looked down to see what's going on. It's the purple girl again. She is fighting with another man. He's about twice her size. She jumped up the stairs and ran into Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan. She hid behind him....the big guy came up the stairs to get her. Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan stoped him and they fought...he kicked him down the stairs. The big guy ran away. He turned around to the girl....

"Tieu Co Nuong..this time it's not b/c I'm too nosy right?..." he said with his brow slightly raised and a charming smile on his face.

"My name is not Tieu Co Nuong.....coi vay ong cung khong co vo duyen lam..." she smiled her face is still in the air....a stuck up little girl. Actually, she expressed herself like that so no one would pick on her. She has been by herself all her life...it's been 10 years as an orphan.

He just smiled...."So can I have the pleasure of knowing your name?" he put his hands together....chap tay....

Before she could even tell him her name....a bunch of ppl rushed in the inn to get her....

"Tu Y Lan Tram!!! See if you can get away this time???!?!" a guy's voice yelled at her...."How dare you beat up my cong tu the other day.....you're going to pay for it today..."

"Oh....." Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan figured out who she is....he heard of her name before. The rumor was that she is very playful and is quite nosy too. She beat up lots of cong tu bot who thinks they are all that and picked on helpless girls.....

"Si!!! your cong tu is a tieu luu manh...giam choc geo den dai co nuong ....tai hang chang song roi...he gets what he deserved..." she sneered at them..."if you want to get me you have to ask him first..." she pushed Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan a little...

"Cai con nho nay...today is your death day!!!" the guy told his men to get her. They flung ropes to catch her...but Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan caught them and fling it right back at them...tying them in a knot....

"Hay qua!! Dang doi chua!! You better leave now before he get you too.." she scared the guy. He and his men retreated....

She was smiling in her cute kinda way....

"Guess you do need my help after all huh?" he told her with a tilt of his head and a charming smile on his face.

Chapter 2

During the whole time...the girls were watching the commotion from upstairs....Hong Tu, Dung Dung, Diem Nhi recognized the familiarity of his face....looks like So Dai Ca....the came down the stairs...followed by their daughters....

"You must be So Tinh Quan..." Dung Dung told him.

"Yes...you're ....To Co Co?" he guessed from her gesture...his mom described them all to him...so he kinda have an idea of how they look like...

She smiled...."Time fly by so fast....I still remeber the day you were borned..."

"He looks so much like So Dai Ca......oh btw...where are your parents?" Hong Tu added.

"Yeah...we miss them so much...it's been 16 years already...why arn't they here?" Diem Nhi was anxious.

"Tam Co Co....(Three aunties) my parents send their regards...they couldn't make it here today..." he replied.

"oh?!?!? are they alright?" Diem Nhi was concerned.

"Oh they're fine...it's just that Dad and Mom went on their journey...they want to phieu lang giang ho by themselves...they asked for your forgiveness coz they didn't come as planned..." he appologized on his parents behalf.

"Mom!!" the girls stood from behind called...

"Oh...sorry...we were too excited int seeing you we forgot to introduce our daughters......this is my daughter, To Dong Nhi(Chau Hai Mi)....she is Ly Co Co daughter, Ly Chi Hoa(Margie Tsang)....and here is Co Thanh Thanh(Gigi Lai), your Tong Co Co 's.." Dung Dung introduced them...turning towards the girls...."He is So Tinh Quan....your So Ba Ba's son..."

"Hi!!" the girls smiled...they were delighted to see him. A handsome charming guy. Their mothers had told them lots about their So Ba Ba...and now seeing his son....makes them beleiving all that was told.

"And who might this be?" Diem Nhi pointed to the girl in purple standing next to him....

"Oh...she is a friend I met on the way here...." turning towards her...."I still didn't get your name..." he told her with a smile.

"It's Tan So Yen..." she told him....

"Oh...Tan Co Nuong....you have a sir name as Tu Y Lan Tram...the Tieu Nu Hiep we heard of these past couple of months..." Hong Tu commented.

"You're too kind Ly Phu Nhan.." She thanked her..."I'm not a Tieu Nu Hiep or anything...I just do what I think is right...and now I have to go....it's nice meeting you all...." she turned to leave.

Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan raised his hand to stop her...but the girls asked him to come up and have dinner with them. He still have So Yen orchid dart in his hand. He put it in his belt. After dinner, they went to their rooms and rested.

The three girls of SLH sisters were in one room talking about the new guy they met....So Tinh Quan. They beeing friends almost like sisters like their mothers eversince they were born....they were all about the same age...just a couple of months diffrence....about 16/17.

"Quan Dai Ca is quite charming...from what mom told me I kinda have an image of what he would look like...and he is..." Thanh Thanh(Gigi) said.

"Yeah....he is very handsome.." Chi Hoa added. They all giggling, smiling...

"and he is quite a lady man like his dad too...." Dong Nhi(Chau Hai Mi) said...."Don't you notice the girl in purple next to him? and how he's looking at her?" Their faces were a little dissappointed.

"But didnt' he said they just met on the way?" Thanh Thanh(Gigi) tried to cheer them up a little.

"Well, it doesn't matter....we just meet him today too...so why are we like this?" Chi Hoa(Margie) asked...they all puzzled..."Are we falling for him at first sight already?" was the question in their mind.....They sighed....

At this moment....Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan was in his room. Lying on his bed...one hand behind his head, the other holding the orchid dart....mot chan co lai. He look at the dart and smile to himself. He is fond of So Yen. He like her personality....maybe because she reminded him of his mom...Tieu Tinh....

Chapter 3

All of a sudden...a dart flew in through his window...she jumped and caught it...it's another orchid dart....he flew out the window after the shadow.....they stoped in the woods....

"Tan Co Nuong..." he called...thinking it's her....

The person turned around and laughed in a wicked way...."haha....Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan....you're a lover boy(nguoi cung da tinh lam).." it's a girl voice but not hers.

Realizing he's being tricked....he looked around for he heard a squeal. It was So Yen...she was caught by the girl in black and her men. They took her out so Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan can see her...she was struggling to get free. She couldn't talk for her mouth was muffled. She tried to tell him something....her eyes looking up the trees. There were men up there...ready to jump down with nets to catch him. But to their dissapointment, he flung out his dart and injured them all....they fell to the ground. The girl in black fought him. Her kung fu is not bad...but thete is no way she can defeat him. He took off her mask....a beautiful girl too....she and her men got away in a cloud of dust.

So Yen was dim huyet...she couldn't move. He walked over to her...he took the cloth off of her mouth but didn't unfreeze her yet....

"Why don't you giai huyet for me?" she asked...a bit agitated.

"You seem to dissappeared everytime I save you...so I thought I would make you stay a bit longer like this.." he flirted. His hands were behind his back as he leaned closer to her face and smiled.

"Thought you were a good guy...but guess you're just like the rest of them.....tieu luu manh..." she liec him....

"Ohhhh....if that's the case...let see how long you're going to stay like that..." he walked over to a rock and sat down looking at her. She stood there motionless.....she was really upset...."if I get free...I'll teach you a lesson.." she thought to herself.

They were there for sometime. He was waiting for her to beg him to let her go....but she wouldn't....Suddenly, rain started coming down....He got up and walked towards her...

"Aren't you going to beg me to let you free?" he looked into her face...."It's started to rain...." One of his brow was raised as he asked her.

She still stubborn....she liec at a different direction...and didn't answer him.....but something is crawling up her leg....she can feel it....

"Hhhhhh" she gasped....her eyes were wide opened....she was scared...she is affraid of snakes.....

"What's the matter? you thought it over? you're going to ask me to let you go...." He didn't notice the little snake by her leg.

"It bit me!!" she screamed....and passed out. He caught her as she drop. He unfreeze her. As soon as he unfroze her she slapped him....she lied...the snake didn't bite her yet...but after she slapped him, it did for real....She tried to free herself from his arm but fell right back...this time she passed out for good....

"Tan Co Nuong?!?!!?" he shook her. Then he examined her leg around the calves. There was a snake bite and it's poisonous. The rain started pouring down hard. He took her to a cave nearby and laid her down on the ground. He #####ed out the poisonous venum from her wound and bandaged her up with a piece of his cloth. He used his kung fu energy to help her pushed the remaining venum out of her system. She droped back onto him unconscious. Her body was really cold...the poison is deadlier than he thought....

"Tan Co Nuong?? Can you hear me?" he shook her somemore. She gained a little bit of conscious. Her eyes were dazed..."I'm so cold!!!" she murmured.

He wrapped his arms around her to keep her warm and rubbed her back....to make it hot...."I'm sorry...if I unfreeze you from the beginning you wouldn't be bitten by the snake.." He softly told her.

Chapter 4

In the middle of the night...So Yen was lying in Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan's arm...She coughed out blood...it's the poisonous blood. The energy that he gave her pushed it out. She regain some conscious. He was grabbing her as she leaned forward and vomit all the bad blood out...

"Tan Co Nuong...Are you ok?" he gently asked.

She turned quickly in her weak way since she is ill....and tried to slap him ...again...He caught her hand...well, not really catch but hold it....in her fiery eyes he can see that she hates his guts...

"I'm sorry..." he appologized again....There was a frown on her face...an aching frown...she moaned...her wound is aching real bad. He raised her leg to take a look but she brushed his hand away...."Don't touch me!!" she commanded with her brows knitting together.

She tried to get up and walk away from him..."It's still raining real hard out there...it's best we stay in here until the storm is over.." he told her. They wer standing up...she didn't listen and about to walk out the cave...but a dizzy spell took her over and she fell to the ground...but as usual, he is right there to catch her. He took her back to the back of the cave away from the rain and wind. He laid her down on the ground....and sat next to her/in front of her to block the cold wind.

Morning came and the storm had stop. She is much better now. She got up before he did...he was sitting asleep. She didn't wake him up. She slowly sat up and stare at him and smiled. Well, all these years no one had taking care of her like him. She began to have thien cam towards him. As she was sitting there daydreaming and smiling to herself, he woke up and look at her....

"Tan Co Nuong...you better now?" his words yanked her back from LA LA land....she was a bit uncomfortable/akward. She didn't mean for him to see her like that. But what can she do...she had thien cam for him now...so she smiled and said..."Yeah...I'm better now...thanx.."

"Sooorrr...." both said at the same time...He wanted to appologize for her wound...and she wanted to appologize for slapping him. Though the word was unfinished but both knew what the other is saying. They smiled and he helped her get up.

"Tan Co Nuong...where do you live? I'll take you home.." he kindly asked. But little did he know...his question inflicted a pain inside of her. The memmory of a home..a family...her parents brought tears to her eyes. She tried hard to hold them in...."I don't have a home...my parents were killed when I was a little girl...I've been on my own all these years.." she told him as she ca nhac forward towards the entrance. Her leg is still in pain.

"I'm sorry...I didn't know...." he walked towards her.

She didn't want anyone to feel sorry for her...for she is a strong girl. She could be on her own all these years is not easy. She told herself to be strong and don't get hurt by anyone. Coz when she was little, an old lady took her in and treated her real nice at first...but later sold her to a rich family as a servent. She ran away before she was taken in....and been on her own eversince...."Anyways, the rain had stop...I'll be on my way now.. thank you for taking care of me..." she smiled and about to go out.

"Wait!! Don't go...since you don't really have a definite place to go...why don't you come with me?....I mean...I have a ship docking not far from here....I'm the only one there...it's nice to have a companion.....if you don't mind that is..." he kindly offered.

Feeling like he is feeling sorry for her...."I don't want any charity from anyone..." she curtly replied.

"No...you know I don't mean that...I'm serious about inviting you to my ship...besides your leg is injured and your kung fu is not a hundred percent recover.....you don't have to stay if you don't want to...but just enough to regain your strength..." he walked closer ...standing right behind her and leaning to the side to look at her face.

She thought for a minute...."Well, I really don't have a home to go to...and besides...he's not a tieu luu manh like I thought...." she thought to herself. Then with a semi smile at the side of her lips..."alright....I'll stay until I recover then I won't bother you.."

Chapter 5
They went back to the inn. He had to say goodbye to his Co Co and the girls. Everyone was up and downstairs having breakfast at a round table.

"Quan Dai Ca!!" the girls greeted him as they saw him. So Yen was right behind him...she tripped over a step and leaned forward...he quickly grabbed her and help her straighten up...still holding her....

The girls weren't too happy about that incident...."Tan Co Nuong....what a surprise to see you again...we thought you left yesterday..." Thanh Thanh(Gigi) stood up and told her.

"Thanh Thanh!!.." Diem Nhi scolded at her...and turned to Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan and So Yen..."where did you go so early in the morning? The girls went looking for you but you weren't in your room.." she asked him.

"Oh I was with Tan Co Nuong lastnight....she was captured by a group of ppl so I went and save her.." he told them...he didn't mention he was tricked to the site by her orchid dart.

"Well, the food is getting cold...you and Tan Co Nuong should join us..." Dung Dung told them.

"Thank you To Co Co...but I'm here to say goodbye to you and the girls...Tan Co Nuong is wounded and I want to take her back to the ship so she can rest..." He told them...still have his hands around her...supporting her....

"oh...what happened? let me see if I can help..." Hong Tu offered.

He helped So Yen over and sat down...Hong Tu looked at her wound...."She was bitten my a very poisonous snake..I'm surprised that she is still alive..." she said....."You must have used your kungfu energy to pushed the venum out.." she turned towards him.

"Yes...Ly Co Co..you guess everything right..." he replied..."Is there any thing you can give her to lessen her pain?" he quickly asked.

Hong Tu took out a bottle and poured out a medicine. She gave it to So Yen and handed the bottle to Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan..."You should give her one a day...for 7*7..49 days. she should be fine by then..." she told him.

"Mom..so it takes 49 days for her to recover?" Chi Hoa(Margie) asked...with a frown...she knew that her Quan Dai Ca is spending time with this girl for at least 49 days.

All three girls weren't too happy....but they have to go home with their mothers....Their fathers are waiting at home. They all are kung fu masters...not as famous and handsome as SLH but they have earned themselves a title in the giang ho too...

"Thank you Ly phu nhan.." So Yen was really touched...there actually are ppl fussing over her...but she can read the expressions on the girls's faces. She knew they have thien cam for Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan too. Looking at their faces and turned back glancing at him...she was pouting too...unknowingly.

"To Co Co, Ly Co Co, Tong Co Co...goodbye...hope to see cac Co Co again...." he chap tay saying bye to them and turned to the girls...."It's nice meeting you girls too...take care!!"

The girls didn't want to hear him say that...they wanted him to come with them to their homes...as guest...but now...he's going home with someone else....they weren't happy at all....."Quan Dai Ca...it's our pleasure to finally meet you...you take care of yourself...we will meet again..." Dong Nhi(Hai Mi) smiled. She is the calmest one in the group. Taking after her mom. All the girls kinda have the characteristics like their mothers...and skills too....like mothers like daughters.

They said goodbye and Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan left with So Yen to his ship. Her injured leg kinda hinder their journey home....So he grabbed her by her waist and use his suppreb kinh cong to take her back to the ship faster.

Chapter 6

Arriving at the dock.....(So Yen was still in shock coz Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan had his arm around her waist)

He was still holding onto her waist when they reach the ground...her face was blushing all pink. Seeing the redness on her cheeks...realizing his hand was still holding her, he quickly let go with a smirk on his face....

"Ummmmmm....we're here!! this is where I live...." he changed the mood and pointed to he ship.

"It's lovely..." she commented..."where are your parents?" she asked as she was looking around.

"Oh they left on a journey...don't know when they will be back..." he told her...."Want me to show you around?" he gestured her to follow him aboard.

They walked around the ship dock...and then he stop in front of a room....."This is your room....hope you like the decorations.." he opened the door...inside it was really lovely...its a lilac theme...it was just a coincident that the room is suited with her taste....well, actually, it's one of his mom favorite color too...

She was delighted as she step into the room...."This is beautiful....and it's my favorite color too...." she was at awed...

"I figure you would like it...my mom decorated this room herself....I'm sure you're pretty worn out now...you should get some rest.." he gently told her...."oh btw..the one across is mine....if you need anything just let me know..." he stepped out and leave her alone.

She was feeling a bit tired...so she went lying down and closed her eyes for a second....she fell asleep for awhile.....An enchanted tune had waken her from her wiery nap...
She follow the sound of the music to the front of the ship. There stood Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan(So Tinh Quan) with a flute in by his mouth. His tune had captured her soul to the sound of the music. She stood there dumb founded...staring at him as he played.

Realizing some one is looking at him, he turned around and put the flute down/away from his mouth....Seeing So Yen standing there motionless/mindless, he smiled at her....

"Up already?" his question yanked her back from her mindlessness...."Uhhmmmm...yes...I didn't realize I was asleep for awhile...." she smiled.

He walked over to her...."You must be hungry now...I roasted a couple of fish I just caught....think they're ready now...let's eat..." he motioned her to go into the open living room....While they were enjoying the burnt skin fish....

"I didn't know how to play the flute so well..." she said as an after thought.

He smiled...."I've always love the sound of the flute...and playing it really relaxes me.." he told her..."Do you know how to play any musical instrument?"

Shook her head..."No...I don't have that pleasure...living on my own issss.....well....I only had time to practice my kung fu...no time for anything else..." she replied sadly.

Seeing the sadness in her eyes..."Do you want to learn how to play the 16-strings harp(dan tranh)?" he offered to teach her...

"I'm very dumb...teaching me is a waste of your time..." she smirked.

"Well, we have some times on our hands right now...so learning it wouldn't hurt...maybe it would help in your recovery....music always tend to have the power..." his smile was stunning....she didn't reply but just slightly drop her head and eyes to the floor.

"Come on...." he lead her over to where the harp is...He sat down and started playing a tune...."this is pretty basic...I'm sure you'll get it in no time..." He got up as he finished...and motioned her to sit down. Awkwardly, she put her hands on the instrument...and started replaying the tune that he just did....she didn't do a very good job...it was all out of tune. A bit ambarrassed, she took her hands back...."I told you I'm not good at this..." with a little disappointment in her tone. He didn't say anything...just came over behind her. He grabbed her hands from behind and gently laid them on the instrument. He started playing the tune again with her hands under his...

At that moment...there was a sudden chill rushing all over her blood vessels. She had never feel like that before. As for Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan(So Tinh Quan), he seemed to be very comfortable having his arms wrapped around her like that....and that charming smile on his face is unforgetable.

When the tune was done...."See...it's not too bad.." he said with the smile still pasted on his face.

Feeling a bit woozie/butterflies in her stomach, she excused herself...."Uhmmm...I'm a bit tired now...I better go to bed..." she got up and rushed to her room...leaning on the door as she closed it behind her. Closing her eyes and think to herelf...."So Yen...what's happening to you?...why are you like this?" the thought of her falling for Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan in such a short time is boggling her mind. She told herself before, not to give her love/heart out so easy...for the old woman had hurted her alot when she was little...she can't trust anyone anymore....But now, she is having feelings for him so soon...it's just not her.

She slowly walked to her bed and lied down. All night she couldn't sleep. Everytime she close her eyes, the image of him playing his flute...when he turned around and that charming smile is engraved in her mind.

As for Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan(So Tinh Quan) when So Yen rushed off to bed in a hurry, he stood there looking at her as she disappeared into her room. Thinking he might have upset her in some way. He looked down at the harp and decided to head off to bed himself...it was pretty late already. In his room.... all decorated in baby blue, the doing of Tieu Tinh....he lied down on his bed and took her dart out. He was staring at it for a moment then looked towards his door at her room and smiled.

Back to So Yen...since she couldn't sleep...she tossed and turned all night. Her wound was aching her...he forgot to give her her medication. She doesn't want to go over to his room to get it....for she still feel a bit uneasy....she tried hard not to moan so loud....

"So Yen?" he was knocking at her door...."I bring you your medication...can I come in?" he asked.

"Uhhmmm...yeah..." she told him...

He opened the door and came in...he lit up the candle at the table and poured her some tea for her medicine. He went over to her bed and gave it to her..."Sorry..I almost forgot...is it hurting you too bad...I heard you moaned..."

She was surprised that he has such a keen hearing...she thought she was really quiet....oh well...she was glad that he heard her and bring her the medicine..."Thank you..." she drank it down...and smiled at him...not looking directly into his eyes...she's affraid of the butterflies in her stomach again...

Chapter 7

Early in the morning....as he was still lying on his bed asleep....A tune from the harp woke up him. It was So Yen...she went out and practice on that tune, the one he taught her lastnight. He washed up and went out to where she is....

"you're early this morning..." he told her.

"Sorry...did I wake you up?" she appologized.

"No.....you're pretty good...guess I can show you the next tune now..." he complimented her with that charming smile on his face again....ahhhh...(sorry I got carried away)

"Well, let me cook you something for breakfast....you can play the next tune while I cook...it won't be long..." she smiled as she got up and headed to the back...where the kitchen is...

He sat down and played the next tune...it was a bit more complicated than the first one...and longer too...The sound of the music as he played was so soothing...it flows really well...he is a natural at music. As soon as the tuned ended...she came out with some dishes...dimsum. She've been on her own all these years of course she can cook well and fast too...

"Whoah...that's quick.." he stood up and came over to the table...."I'm sure they smell great.." he commented...he inherrited the bad nose from his dad...can't sense of smell is no good.

"Huh? you...can't smell the food?" she wondered.

"Oh...I inheritted from my dad...our noses are no good...it's no use for us..." with a smile.

"Aw...anyway...hope your taste buds are better than your nose..." she commented.

They smiled and dug in....he tasted a piece of every dish...."You're a pretty good cook!!"

"Thank you...well...have to feed myself.." she slightly look at him and turned her vision down at the dishes....seeing the sparkle in his eyes kinda make her a bit shy/timid.

They finished their dimsum and she cleared the table. She came back in a few minutes after cleaning up all the things she used.

"So do you want to try the new tune?" he asked her.

"Sure..." she came over and sat down at the harp...this time she wasn't too awkward....she started playing the song.
It's amazing how she changed overnight...she's really good at this one...she caught on quickly...as she was playing...he took out his flute and played a tune that harmonizes with hers. They were making beautiful music together...

Funny how time fly. It had been almost 2 weeks that they sspent on the ship together.

It was noon time....While Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan(So Tinh Quan) and So Yen were enjoying each other company on his ship, the girls...Thanh Thanh(Gigi), Chi Hoa(Margie), and Dong Nhi(Hai Mi)...missed him alot. They snuck out of their homes to go see him...wasn't planned ahead to meet each other...they ran into each other near his ship....

"Thanh Thanh??...What are you doing here?" Chi Hoa(Margie) asked.

Surprised to see Chi Hoa too...."Uh....so what are you doing here then?" she asked her back.

"Uhmmmm...." Chi Hoa(Margie) couldn't answer Thanh Thanh's(Gigi) question.

"We're all here because of Quan Dai Ca..." said a voice. Dong Nhi(Hai Mi) stepped coming towards them. They all dropped their heads to the ground...."Yeah...we're here b/c of him...but dunno if he misses us too..." Dong Nhi continued.

"Maybe not...he has So Yen with him now...maybe he didn't even have time to think of us at all..." Thanh Thanh(Gigi) added sadly.

"Well...since we are here...we might as well go see him then..." Chi Hoa(Margie) suggested. The girls agreed and they went to Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan's place.

On the ship...So Yen was playing the harp as Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan practice his kungfu with his flute. A string on the harp broke and cut her finger.

"Ouch!!" So Yen jerked her hand back.

Stop in the middle of his kungfu practice..."Are you alright?" Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan came over and looked at her cut...he bandaged it up. The girls happened to showed up at that moment when he was holding So Yen's hand. They weren't too happy.

"Maybe we come at the wrong time..." Thanh Thanh(Gigi) told the girls.

Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan and So Yen looked up and saw the girls..."What are you girls doing here?" said Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan in a delightful surprised.

"Oh we don't mean to intrude....we were just here to see how So Yen Co Nuong is doing with her recovery..." Dong Nhi(Hai Mi) quickly replied.

"I'm fine....thanx...!!" knowing the girls didn't come to see her...but they were here to see Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan.

Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan got up and invited the girls in.

"Did Co Co send you girls here for me? Something they need me to do?" he asked.

"uhmmmm....not really...they don't know we're here...we left them a note telling them we're on an adventure with you..." Thanh Thanh(Gigi) told him.

He looked over at So Yen...she was looking at the other way...a little disappointed at how he attracts so many girls...."you girls should go back home...Co Co might be worrying about your disappearing..." he told them.

"Common let's go girls...maybe he doesn' want us here to be a ky da cang mui..." said Chi Hoa(Margie) to the girls.

"uhhhhmm...since you girls are already here....then stay for a couple of days....I'll show you to your rooms..." Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan motioned them to their rooms.

"Sorry...there is only one room left so you girls have to bunk together...." the showed them to a large room...with a big enough bed for the three of them..."if you need anything let me know..." he left them and went outside.

They were delighted to get to stay..."Thank you Quan Dai Ca!!" They got situated.

So Yen didn't like the idea that the girls were staying with him and her on the ship. She was a bit upset. She was still outside on the front of the ship looking at the water..pouting...

Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan approached her but she didn't know...she was deep in thought...."how could he offer them to stay? what a lady man...oh....why am I so upset?...I'm just his guest here...who am I to get mad at what he does?"

"So Yen??...So Yen!!" he called as he tapped her shoulder. She startled as she turned her head and looked up at him....

"So your girls are situated?" her tone had a pinch of jealousy in it.

Knowing what was bothering her...he smiled...and stared straight into her big round eyes. Their eyes were locked onto each other for a moment.....

"Quan Dai Ca..." called the girls.

So Yen turned the other way....pouting....

He turned around and saw the girls...."Cac co ha??Is there anything I can do for you?" He was a little disappointed they came out in a wrong time....

Chapter 8

A couple days had past and So Yen kung fu was recovered almost 80%. She can't stand the way Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan and the girls were talking....flirting....She was in her room by herself while Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan and the girls were talking and laughing outside....

"huh!!! Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan....you're such a flirt!!I hate you!!" she was pouting and murmuring to herself as she stomped to her bed. She gathered her stuff and about to leave...she decided it's best for her not too see him acting friendly towards other girls in front of her so she made up her mind to leave without saying goodbye. Besides since he was so busy with his new companies he wouldn't even notice she is missing. As she was heading towards the door, he was there....

"Tan Co Nuong...you're going somewhere?" he saw the pouch hanging from her shoulder...

Was surprised to see him here...looking for her...."It looks like you have enough ppl here to keep you company. With or without is no difference..." she replied curtly...still having a pouting face.

"But you don't have anyplace to go.." he said.

That ticked her off even more..."so what is it? Is he feeling sorry for me that I don't have anywhere else to stay?" was in her thought....."I've managed to be on my own all these years...it makes no difference....besides I don't need any charity from you..." she was really pissed. She pushed him to the side and rushed off. He quickly grabbed her shoulder. She turned around with her kungfu to fight him. But as usual...she is no match for him. He grabbed her hand and yanked her back into his arms (just like the scene when SC was snooping in CLH room).

She struggled to get free...."So Yen..." he called her by her name. She stopped at hearing her name coming out from his mouth...the call was so warm and comforting..."Don't go...I won't let you leave me..." he continued. His words brought tears to her eyes...she can't believe she's hearing all these words coming from him. Still in his arms, she looked up towards him...seeing the seriousness in his eyes melted her heart. She looked down at her hand...his was still holding tight onto hers as he has his arms wrapped around her. He noticed her look so he slightly released the grip. He turned her around facing him as he tilted his head to look at the tears glistening in eyes. Her head was looking at the floor...trying to stop the teardrop from running down her cheek. However, a tear did dropped from her eyes. He gently wiped it off of her cheek...

"So Yen...sao em dai vay?" his manly voice with warmth tone making her feel like she can break out and cry right there and then. She told herself not to be soo emotional....she found herself to be a weakling in front of him. Where has her coldness gone to? She had been putting on a cold stern face...don't care about anything for all these years...and now...in front of him...she is just a weak girl.

"Quan Dai Ca!!" Thanh Thanh(Gigi) walked in on them...

So Yen walked the other way...towards her bed..with her back facing Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan and Thanh Thanh.....she was upset that everytime they have a minute alone. Someone always interrupted.

"We'll be right out..." he told Thanh Thanh ..incenuating for her to leave him and So Yen alone for a minute. Thanh Thanh turned around and walked away. She didn't know what happened but she didn't like what she saw.

He turned towards So Yen....and walked over and standing real close to her...."Don't go ok....you can make this your home...well, this room is belong to you no matter what..." he told her.

She turned around facing him...but didn't say anything...all was said was in her facial expression...her eyes were like asking him ..."Do you mean it?" His charming smile confirmed her question.

Chapter 9

"With the girls??!" she slipped....she didn't mean to say it aloud. That was what popped in her head as he said that......

He gave her that look...the kind that says..."what? you must be jealous..." then shook this head....."then do you want to join us?" he rubbed it in.

A little ambarrassed for showing her jealousy that obvious, she turned away from him...feeling a bit stupid....

"I'm just kidding....I'll be in my room...you just get some rest...I'll keep an eye out for you..." he smiled and turned around....got back to his room...

She quickly turned around and saw him walking out....she turned back and went to bed...a little shy smile was pasted on her face.

That night...nothing happened....

The next day.....

"Good Morning Quan Dai Ca!!" the girls greeted him as he came out to the living room and sat down by the table. The girls have made dimsum.

"Morning!! Did you girls sleep well last night?" he asked them.

"We sleep really well...but dunno about So Yen Co Nuong...haven't seen her this morning..." Thanh Thanh(Gigi) mentioned.

Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan quickly got up and went looking for So Yen. He knocked on her door, but no answer. He let himself in. She was lying on her bed unconscious. Little did they know...she was injured lastnight...a little kim cham had hit her on her shoulder blade.

"So Yen??? So Yen??!!" he shook her...."Chi Hoa!!!" he called. The girls rushed in. "Chi Hoa can you check on her..." he raised So Yen up leaning on him.
Chi Hoa(Margie) took So Yen pulse. A moment later, she sadly informed Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan....

"So Yen was hit in one of her nguyet dao....she is in a tranz now....unconscious unless...." she paused....

"Unless what?" he was concerned....his facial expression was the utmost worried...

"Unless you use your kungfu engergy to push it out" she told him....

"Then that shouldn't be a problem....let's get started right away..." he told her....

"The thing is that we don't know where she is hit....it might kill her and you....you have to be away from it when it fly out of her....." Chi Hoa told him...."Besides, the masked ppl might be back ...and you lose so much energy...we won't be a match to them..." she contintued.

"I know what you're concern about...but at the moment...I can't let So Yen be like this....you girls go outside and stand guard....I don't want any of you to get hurt if the kim cham fly out at the you..." he told them....

A bit happy that he still think of them...they did as told.

Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan sat So Yen up and used his kungfu energy transfering to her back. During the last process, the needle flew out and almost hit him...luckily he darted it in time so it missed him by a hair. So Yen moaned as the needle was released from her shoulder and fell back onto him. She was a bit weak......

"Quan Dai Ca...what happened? What are you doing here in my room...and on my bed?" she had no clue what happened....she didn't even know she was hit by the dart....it's a fine needle....very crafty work....

"You were unconscious b/c of a needle stuck at your nguyet dao....but it's out now...you'll be fine..." he wasn't well...he used too much of his energy....

"Quan Dai Ca...are you ok?" she saw his dizzy facial expression.

"I'll be fine...I'm going to use my energy to regenerate your nguyet dao...." he told her...

"You girls come on in..." he called for the girls....

"Quan Dai Ca...you alright?" they asked...as they rushed over by his side....he was still sitting on So Yen's bed.

"I'll be alright...you girls have to be careful...I think I heard footsteps outside....they're here...." he told them.

"What are we going to do?" Thanh Thanh(Gigi) asked.

"We'll just have to stall until Quan Dai Ca get better....he should be fine in an hour or so...since his kungfu is great it shouldn't take long..." Chi Hoa(Margie) told Thanh Thanh and Dong Nhi.

"Ok...let's go out there keep them busy.." Thanh Thanh(Gigi) suggested.

"No!!...we'll just stay in here and wait for them to come in...they're not sure of my condition that's why they haven't make their move yet...so just stay put...I'm going to re-energize myself....you girls just becareful until I'm better..." he closed his eyes and van cong with So Yen...

"Quan Dai Ca....I'm sorry..." So Yen appologized...."If it wasn't for me you wouldn't be like this..." her sad weak face...

"Don't talk...just concentrate on your recovery...." he told her.

Surely engough...the masked ppl were too affraid to attack...they weren't sure if he is weak or not...they were outside for awhile....

When Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan and So Yen was almost done...the masked bandit decided to come in ....they kicked the door opened and started fighting witht the girls... seein Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan and So Yen on the bed van cong, tells them that he is not fully recoved yet...

Chapter 10

The girls kept them busy for awhile but they were no match for all the attackers....they were injured...So Yen flinged her dart at the attackers as they were about to hurt the girls...because she was losing concentration...she coughed blood. Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan stop his van cong process and laid her down...he is much better now...he used his and fought off the attackers. They retreated. But the girls and So Yen were all injured. The girls weren't bad...but So Yen is a bit more serious. The energy that he transfered to her is running wild in her system. She was conscious though...

Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan ran over to see the girls and So Yen..."You girls ok?" he asked them...as he helped them to the table in So Yen's room. Then he went over to see So Yen..."How are you feeling?" he asked her as he helped her up.

"I'm so cold..." she moaned....His kungfu is chi duong..so it's not too compatible in her system especially when it's running wild. He sat on her bed and held her.

"Is there anything you can do to help her Chi Hoa?" he turned to the girls.

"I think I can use my cham cuu to help her release some of your energy Quan Dai Ca..." Chi Hoa(Margie) replied....still recovering from the kicked in the stomach by the masked ppl.

"You get better first...I don't want you to be worst than now..." he told Chi Hoa. He put So Yen down and placed a comforter over her...."I'm going to cook something for you girls....just get plenty of rest..." he told them.

The girls recovered ....but So Yen was still under the comforter ....chilling...chattering...due to the coldness she feel from within...

Chi Hoa used her cham cuu to help her. She got better afterward. They were all outside in the living room at the dinner table.

"I wonder what they want from me?" So Yen commented...she thinking....a flashback in her head of what her dad told her before he put her in the tunnel...."HANG ON TO THIS INDIGO STAFF...IT'S HAS AN UNTOLD SECRET...YOU'LL HAVE TO FIND OUT ON YOUR OWN..." it hit her...she laid down her chopsticks and went to her room...the girls and Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan looked at each other and followed her.

"I know what they're looking for...it's this staff...." she picked up the staff under her pillow...and pondered.

"What so special about that staff? it's pretty ordinary.." Thanh Thanh(Gigi) commented.

"Oh yeah?" So Yen twisted the lock and it's become longer...she used it and fought a couple stance with Thanh Thanh...the last stance was pointed right at Thanh Thanh's face...."Still think it's ordinary?" she asked with a smirk on her face.

"So Yen...can I see that.." Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan asked.

So Yen retreated her stance and handed the staff to him...he was observing it....

"My dad told me there is an untold secret hidden in the staff...but to this day...I still have no clue how to uncover the secret...First I thought it wasn't true...or maybe I heard him wrong...but now...since all these ppl are aftering me...I think it might have something to do with that..." she told him as he was turning the staff all around and inspected it.

"If it's easy...then it wouldn't be a secret..." he commenteed...his brows were knitted...."how do you contract this?" he handed it to So Yen.

"Right here..." she twisted the look....towards the end of the staff...They still have no clue.

"Well, my parents have a friend who knows alot about unique gadgets, maybe he can help us in uncovering the secret..." he told her.

"So lets go...we're curious about what's hidden in that staff too..." Thanh Thanh(Gigi) said and the girls nodded..

Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan looked at So Yen to see if that's ok with her...."That's fine with me...so when shall we go?" she asked him.

"Early tomorrow...we should finish our dinner and head off to bed early....it's gonna be a long trip tomorrow..." he told them...They all headed out to the livingroom..."you better hang on to that staff securely now..." he turned around and told So Yen with a smile on his face...She had a tighter grip on it....he laughed a little and they went out.

Chapter 11

The next day they all headed South(Giang Nam) to the Ung's residence to see So Luu Huong good friend, Ung Hien Duong. On the way, there were nonstop bickering between So Yen and Thanh Thanh(Gigi). It seems like everything one does, the other is annoyed. They finally reached the Ung Kien Son Trang...

"we are here to see Ung Ba Ba..." Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan told one of the servants.

"please come into the main hall...I'll inform my lao gia(owner)" replied the servant as he showed them to the main hall...

"Thank you!" Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan told him and they followed...The hall was very beautifully decorated wiht many unique paintings and penmanships...."Ung Ba Ba is a calligraphy collector" he said as he walked over to So Yen who's observing a piece of calligraphy work on the wall....

"haha... I'm just an admirer of great penmanship...." said a deep voice coming from the corridoor....

"Ung Ba Ba....long time no see..." Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan greeted him....

"so it's Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan that came to see me...what an honor for me..." replied Ung Hien Duong(Lau Don)...

"Ung Ba Ba qua khach sao...(you're too kind)"....Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan shyly replied....as he put his hand up to reject the praise....

"haha....how are your parents?" Ung Hien Duong asked him

"My parents are fine....they are travelling around now....if not...they would surely come here to pay you a visit..." Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan told him....He then introduces the girls to Ung Hien Duong.....Something about So Yen features that made him pay a little more attention to her than the others.....

"I'm sorry to be rude....but the reason we're here today is that we need your expertise on this mysterious gadget..." So Yen was impatience ...she really wanted to know about the secret in her staff....Ung Hien Duong looked at the staff....his brow knitted

"do you know the history of this staff Ung Ba Ba?" Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan can see some familiarity in his eyes....

"Yes...I've seen this before....in matter of fact it was belonged to a real good friend of mine....." then he sighed....

"who is he?" So Yen quickly asked.....

"His name was Tan Thien Vuong..." Ung Hien Duong replied...as he say his name...he looked deeper at So Yen....her heart sank....and she's glad that someone knew of her parents..."Sadly...his whole family was killed in a massacred..." he continued....tears were welling up in her eyes as he speaks...

"Then do you know the secret about this staff?" Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan asked...

All ears were onto Ung Ba Ba's words....

"He mentioned something about a hidden treasure...I'm not really sure how to uncover the map...but it's in the Indigo Staff.." was Ung Ba Ba replied.

They all were looking at each other. Then So Yen looked at her staff...no wonder her dad told her to hang on tight to it...."Quan Dai Ca said you're an expert in queer gadgets...do you think you can take a look at my staff and see if you can unravel it?" So Yen asked Ung Ba Ba as she handed him the staff....

He took it and examined it..."This is your family's secret...I think the treasure belong to your encestor.." he said as he was looking at the staff..."Ah....your dad did mentioned something about a family kungfu to get the secret....but looking at you...you're too young to be powerful enough to get the secret out of it..." he sad commented....

"Though I can't....but with Quan Dai Ca energy, maybe he can..." she commented...looking at Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan...

"Oh..I can't do that...that's your family kungfu and secret...I cannnn't..."

Before he could even finished...."Well, I'm staying with you....uhm...on your ship...we're like a family...you don't have to feel awkward about it..." she interrupted him.

"If that's the case...why not....Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan...you should help her unravel the secret..." Ung Ba Ba suggested...."You can stay at my house while you're learning her family kungfu..." he told them.

"Thank you Ung Ba Ba..." he replied for all of them...

"Then can you tell me who killed my parents? I've been searching for my enemies all these years..." So yen sadly asked Ung Ba Ba..

"Unfortunately I don't....they were so mysterious that no one knows..." he sadly replied.

Slightly touched her shoulder..."Don't worry...we'll find out who killed your parents...I'm sure it has to do with those mysterious ppl on our ship..." Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan comforted her.

"Oh...let me show you to your rooms.." Ung Ba Ba said...he called for his servant to take the girls to their rooms...as for him and Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan...they stayed and have a drink...

"So how are your parents?" Ung Ba Ba asked.

"Oh I'm sure they are fine...they went on their long journey....with dad around...I'm sure mom is in good hands..." he replied with a smile.

"Ung Ba Ba....so how did you...." he didn't finished and heard fighting coming from where the girls stayed.. They rushed to the scene. The girls were fighting...well, it was more like Thanh Thanh(Gigi) and So Yen fighting...Chi Hoa(Margie) and Dong Nhi(Hai Mi) were trying to stop them. Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan stoped them....

"Girls....what's the matter?" he asked....looking at them...

"Well, she started it first...she keep bothering so I teach her a lesson..." said Thanh Thanh(Gigi).

"I just wanted to practice some kungfu with her and that's what we were doing...why did you come?" said So Yen as she turned and scolded at him with her cute stuck up face...

He smiled and shook his head...."So Yen...this is not the place for you to act childish..." he gave her that look...then the turned to Thanh Thanh..."You have to behave yourself too....this is not your house....don't be disrespectful..."

Ung Ba Ba laughed..."It's quite alright...having so many beautiful girls around is not always a good thing..." he jokingly said.

Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan turned to him and smiled....then the turned back to the girls..."You girls should get some rest.." he walked over to So Yen and saif softly in her ears..."Especially you...don't be nhong nheo here..." then he took off with Ung Ba Ba...back to their drinking...

The next morning.....

So Yen went over to Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan's room and handed him her family kungfu book..."here...you should be able to get the gist of this in a short time...I only got to level 6....I can't seem to go on from there....Think the higher levels are more for a male physique than a female...anyways, you look it over and practice it ....the sooner you get to level 10 the better...." she sighed then smiled....as though she was sad that she can't even learn her family kungfu...but at least it's him that she's giving the book to...

The girls walked in...."Now ...you're so early..." Thanh Thanh said with a grudge in her tone.

"ok....you girls should go out now so I can examine So Yen's family kungfu..." before they close the door behind them..."remember...no more bickering..." his last words to them.... They rolled their eyes and left him alone...

Chapter 13

All day the girls didn't start any quarrel. They surprising did as he asked. It was late in the evening after dinner time. The girls, Thanh Thanh(Gigi), Chi Hoa(Margie), and Dong Nhi(Hai Mi), were out somewhere. Only So Yen was left behind...in her room. She was looking thru her Indigo Staff to see if anything would pop up. She was deep in her work. Suddenly, she heard a tune from a harp coming from somewhere in the garden....

"Quan Dai Ca?!?!" she said softly to herself and ran out to the garden. But to her disappointment it wasn't him. There was a young guy playing one of the tune that Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan had taught her....Seeing that it wasn't him...she turned around and to head back to her room.

The guy saw her was about to leave so he stop playing ...."Co Nuong...Did my tune bother you?" he kindly asked.

Being polite...she turned back and answered him..."Oh no...you didn't bother me....instead I should appologize for disturbing you..." she smiled.

"Btw, my name is Ung Dai Du(Kent Tong)..." he introduced himself....

"Thieu Trang Chu(young master)!!The master wanted to see you in his room..." a servant came for him.

"Oh??? You must excuse me...it's nice meeting you.." he wanted to know her name...

"It's Tan So Yen..." she smiled..

"Tan Co Nuong....I have to see my father....hope to see you again..." he excused himself and left with the servant.

So Yen just nodded and she headed back to her room....but on the way..she was wondering how far Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan got with the kungfu. She went back the other way towards his room. She was about to knock on the door..but affraid she might be interrupting him...she took her hand back and about to head the other way....

"Come on in.." he said from within....

She turned back and opened the door...."You know I was outside?" she asked with a little smile on her lips.

He just smiled..."What is it? something I can do for you?" he asked her.

"uhmmm..no ...not really...I was just wondering how far you got that's all..." she replied with a little shy face...in actuality, she haven't seen him all day...she misses him.

He got up from his bed and walked over to the table...she followed him....he poured two cups of tea and they drank. I'm only at level 7 he told her....

"What? you're at level 7 already? it took me 3 years to get to level 6.....guess I'm really dumb..." she was disappointed in herself....her face was pouting...

He glanced over at her at the corner of his eyes....and smiled..."You're not dumb...but as you said before, this type of kungfu is more for a male...that's why you can only get to level 6 and in that time frame...." trying to comfort her as he poured some more tea for her.

"Guess you're right....but I'm really surprised..and glad that you got that far already...." she smiled as she put the teacup to her lips...

"Well, the key is at level 8,9,and 10....it wouldn't be so easy for the next 3 levels....I might need to several more days before I can succeed.." he told her.

"So you mean we're not going to see you for awhile?" she slipped...caught herself...she looked down into her tea...a bit blushing....

with a thingyy smile on his face...he didn't answer her right away...but tilted his head a little to see her face...."during that time I hope you won't cause anymore trouble with the girls..." he gently told her....

"Awww...to you I'm a trouble maker huh?" she was offended. She face was a little lifted upward.

"No you're not...but try to be in peace with the girls that's all..." with his thingyy smile again....

"Fine!!! since I'm a trouble maker then I shouldn't be bothering you then.." she got up quickly....

He grabbed her hand..."So Yen..." his warm sexy voice called her. She stop in her motion but didn't turn around...."I just don't want to be a bother to Ung Ba Ba...that's all...you understand??" he gently put it.

She heard him and knew what he was conveying. She dropped her head to the floor.

"I'm a bit hungry...want to get the girls so we can go out for dinner?" he asked her.

"They're gone....they went out early today...haven't seen them all day either..." she replied...not upset anymore.

"Then lets go..." he told her. She didn't say anything except nodding her head and they went out.

When they got to the garden....Ung Dai Du was there looking for So Yen....

"Tan Co Nuong...I thought you were gone..." Ung Dai Du(Kent Tong) said...he was happy to see her again..

A bit unhappy since Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan was standing right there with her..."Ung Cong Tu..." she replied. Her eyes were glancing over at Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan...she didn't want him to misunderstand.

"You're must be Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan...the young well known hero...(dai hiep tieng tam lung lay).....my father say lots of nice things about you..." Ung Dai Du greeted him.

"Ung Cong Tu qua khen(you're too kind)...I'm just an ordinary guy...unlike Ung cong Tu...your kindness and heroic deeds had spreaded all over giang ho..." Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan replied with a smile.

"Oh now you're making me blush..." Ung Dai Du told him and they laughed...."so where are you two heading off to?" he asked.

"Oh Quan Dai Ca and I have something to do...we'll see you later Ung Cong Tu..." So Yen quickly answered..she doesn't want Ung Dai Du to come.

Ung Dai Du turned to Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan for confirmation....all Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan did was smile...

"Come on Quan Dai Ca...let's go..." So Yen grabbed his arm..

"We'll see you later Ung Cong Tu..." Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan excused him and So Yen....

Ung Dai Du was just stood there looking...

When they got out of the Ung's mansion....Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan asked So Yen..."Why the rush? You're not that hungry are you?" he smiled...kinda figured out what she wants.

"So you're not hungry then? Come on lets go before it getting too dark.." she told him as she rushed off in front of him so he can't see her face blushing....He just gave his thingyy smile and followed her.

Chapter 14

They finished dinner already and was sitting at the restaurant's table. Looking outside, it was dark with the light from the fullmoon and the stars....

"What a beautiful starry night.." So Yen sighed...she was thinking of her mom...she and her mom used to sat by their garden observing the stars. Her face was a bit sad.

"What's wrong?" Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan saw her sadness through her eyes.

She didn't say anything...just shook her head...."he woudn't understand...he still have his parents.." she thought to herself.

"Come on lets go..." he told her....he put the money on the table for the tieu nhi and grabbed her hand.

"Where are we going?" she asked as she was running along with him...."this is not the way back to the Ung's mansion.." she said.

"You'll see...." he told her. As they got to a place far from the town...at the side of a mountain top, he wrapped his arm around her waist and carried her up the mountain...."You get a better view of the stars from here.." he looked down at her.

She was still in his grip. He let go of her waist and she looked up into the dark starry sky..."it is much better up here..." she smiled at him...."Thanx!!"

He looked up at the moon and stars, then his eyes turned to hers...they were staring at each other for a moment....no one speak...but his hands were pulling her slowly to him. She didn't object and just go with the flow. He held her in his arms...for the first time they were ambracing in answering to the call of love. She closed her eyes as she pressed her head against his broad chest. For the first time in her life that she feel secure and loved again...ever since her family was murdered.

Rubbing his masculine hands on her back...."I've never met anyone who makes me feel like the way I feel right now..." his tender loving words just melted her away.

"Quan Dai Ca..." she softly uttered. So glad to have met him and fell in love with him...and be loved by him. For the rest of the night, they didn't talk much...except for staying within each other's company and looking at the beautiful romantic sky.

She fell asleep in his arms as they were sitting on the open grass field. Seeing her deep in her sleep, he didn't wake her up...just sat there with her until morning.

Back at the Ung's mansion, the girls were wondering where Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan and So Yen went. They couldn't sleep that night...lying in their beds tossing and turning....

"Don't you think Quan Dai Ca is so biased towards So Yen?" Thanh Thanh(Gigi) couldn't keep it in her anymore. She asked the other girls.

Sighed..."yeah...he seems to care about her more than us..." Chi Hoa(Margie) confessed.

"well, what can we do...we all love him...but he doesn't return our love in that sense...he does care but not as some one he love..." Dong Nhi(Hai Mi) told the girls. They got out of bed and went to sat by the table. Didn't light up their candle though...they just sat there in the dark.

"But let say...even if he does love one of us...how are the others going to feel? We grew up with each other for so long that we wouldn't want anyone of us get hurt.....guess it's better this way....he loves someone else..." Thanh Thanh(Gigi) sighed. The other two didn't say anything..but what Thanh Thanh just said was so true to them...they wouldn't want to see one have love and the others don't. All gave a big sighed....

"Do you think they're together somewhere? Maybe on a mountain top in a romantic mood??" Chi Hoa(Margie) commented. The girls were feeling even sadder to even have that thought in their heads.

"Anyways, lets go to bed girls...nothing we can do now..." Dong Nhi(Hai Mi) sadly said.

"Or we can go back home..." Chi Hoa suggested.

"You want to? But I still want to stay around Quan Dai Ca..." said Thanh Thanh.

They all agreed. They don't really want to go home. They left because of him. They just can't go back without a fight....well, at least give him some more chances to spread his love....so they thought...They went to bed with a solem heart.

Chapter 15

The rays from the early morning sun struck So Yen's eyes. She woke up and realized that she had slept in his arms all night...a bit blushing....

"Morning!!" his warm voice greeted her with a thingyy smile pasted on his handsome face.

"Morning!!" she shyly replied blushing all red. She sat up..fixing her hair.

"We better get back...they might be looking for us..." he told her.

"Yeah.." she uttered.

They went down the moutain the same way they got up...he grabbed her waist and used his kinh cong down the moutain side.

When they got in the Ung's mansion, the girls were over at his room waiting already. Upon seeing them walking in together they were curious where they've been all night...

"Where have you two been? We were looking for you lastnight..." Thanh Thanh(Gigi) questioned them.

So Yen didn't say anything...she just glanced over at Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan and they kinda smile...."You girls need to see me about something?" he avoided Thanh Thanh's question.

The girls weren't too happy...but Thanh Thanh seems to be the one that showed everything on her face. Dong Nhi(Hai Mi) and Chi Hoa(Margie) tend to be more mature...."We were wondering how your kungfu practice is coming along..." Chi Hoa replied.

"Oh I need to go on with the last 3 levels..." he told them..."but it won't be as easy...I need more time to figure them out..."

"Do you need our help?" Dong Nhi asked.

"Actually I do...I need you girls to be good and not get into any trouble while I'm be mon tap vo..." he smiled as he told them..."especially, So Yen and Thanh Thanh...no more bickering...at least until we leave the Ung's mansion." pointed his finger at them two.

"Yes...we understand Quan Dai Ca..." the girls replied.

He looked at So Yen....waiting for her answer....

"Ok...fine...I won't start anything if she doesn't.." she told him...kinda pouting...He shook his head. And all the girls left....He went right to his practice....

While they were in the backyard...."So what should we do until Quan Dai Ca finish with his be mon?" Chi Hoa(Margie) asked Dong Nhi and the others.

"Well, I think we just have to stay put and don't do anything....remember what he said..no more troubles.." Dong Nhi told them.

Chapter 16

A week had passed by so quickly and the girls haven't seen Ngoc Tieu lang Quan during all that time. He didn't want any disruption from his practicing. The girls were all standing outside anxiously awaits to see him and if he's got to the last level to get the treasure map.

During the time that Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan was be mon(focusing on So Yen's family kungfu), Ung Dai Du(Kent Tong) tried to get So Yen to go out tang bo with him. She went for the first time...but after that she tried to avoid him. She doesn't like him. For some reason she felt like he is not who he seems to be. Besides, her love is not him...it's Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan. She was worried about how he is doing with the kungfu practice. Not seeing him for a week was like a lifetime.

Finally, the door of Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan's room opened and he stepped out. The girls rushed over to greet him.

"Quan Dai Ca!!!" they called..."so did you succeeded?" asked Thanh Thanh excitedly.

He smiled and nodded his head....He turned to So Yen..."Shall we give it a try?" he asked her. She handed him the Indigo Staff. Ung Ba Ba told them that the staff is made of a special metal. Nothing can break it ....but only the family highest kungfu level can do the trick. He van cong and aimed at one end of the stick, where the lock is to unhook the two pieces that make the staff contracts and elongates. The girls were observing his kungfu energy. One snap and the staff was in two peices.

All the eyes were opened wide....There was a peice of sheep hide in the staff. On it was a map....it was the map to the Tan's hidden treasure. Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan handed the map to So Yen. All of a sudden a masked guy dressed in black jumped in and grabbed it from her hand. Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan fought with the guy and of course he got the map back. The masked guy escaped...a moment later, Ung Dai Du and his dad, Ung Ba Ba, came in to see what's going on....

"We were over at the garden and heard people fighting..." Ung Dai Du(Kent Tong) said...."Is everything alright in here?" he said like he was concerned.

"Oh there was a mysterious person(hac y) in here...but Quan Dai Ca took care of him..." Thanh Thanh replied.

"So did you succeed with Tan Co Nuong's family kungfu?" Ung Ba Ba asked him....

"Yes I did...." he replied.

"But the map was stolen by the mysterious person(hac y) ..." So Yen quickly told the Ungs.

All the girls were surprised...they didn't know why So Yen said that...but they kept their quiet anyways. For the past week that Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan was be mon....she sense something is up with the Ung's family. One time she spied on Ung Dai Du and he seems to be suspicious to her. Being on her own for so long...she is very careful in observing those around her. Therefor, she had to guard herself. Since she didn't trust Ung Dai Du...she didn't want to show Ung Ba Ba the map either.

"Oh...oh really?....The hac y kungfu is that powerful?" Ung Ba Ba asked...

"No not really...he is no match for Quan Dai Ca...it was just that I wasn't careful...the map was in my hand that he stolen from...and he is a sneaky guy...he used smoke to escape...." So Yen went on with her story.

"So what are you going to do now?" Ung Ba Ba asked Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan...

Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan glanced over at So Yen. He seemed to be able to read her eyes really well so he went along with her story...."I think we might have to say goodbye to you now Ung Ba Ba...we have to chase after the hac y to get So Yen's map back.....Thank you for your hospitality!!" he told Ung Ba Ba.

"Are you sure? How about let me send my men out searching for the hac y...losing the map in my place is my responsibility since I'm the master...I have to help in getting it back..." Ung Ba Ba offered.

"Don't!!! I don't want to be a bother to you Ung Ba Ba...us five is enough to hunt him down...besides we bother you for awhile already...the girls have to get back to their families to see there parents anyway....so I think it's best for us to leave..." Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan replied...

"oh...ok then...if you need anything just let me know..." Ung Ba Ba told them.

They said their goodbyes and leave at once....

Chapter 17

They were far from the Ung's mansion and rested at a pagoda on the road....

"So Yen...why did you lied to Ung Ba Ba about the map being stolen?" Thanh Thanh(Gigi) asked as soon as they sat down..

"Is it something you know and didn't tell us So Yen?" Dong Nhi continued.

So Yen sighed and looked at Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan then answered..."Well, for some reason I don't feel that they are honest ppl...." she replied.

"What do you mean? Ung Ba Ba and Ung Cong Tu seems to be really nice ppl....I don't see what's wrong with them..." Thanh Thanh disagreed.

"Well, since you're always at home with your parents what do you know about the ppl in giang ho....you can't just trust anybody like that you know..." So Yen told Thanh Thanh...She sighed again..."I don't have any proof...but I trust my intuition...I'm usually never wrong about my judgement..." she told them. Looking over at Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan...searching for support and confirmation....

"Well, since we're out here already...lets not question So Yen anymore ok...I'm sure she has her reasons..." he told the girls.

"Quan Dai Ca...you're always on her side.." Thanh Thanh pouted.

He shook his head...."So what do you want to do now?" he turned to So Yen.

"I want to use the map to lure the mysterious person(hac y) out...I bet he had something to do with my parents death...maybe from him I can know who killed my folks..." she told him.

"Ummmm...but during that time...we can follow the map to see where it takes us to..." he told her.

They all agreed and went as planned.

Surprisingly, there wasn't any problem on the way...it was a smooth ride. They followed the map and headed North to Mongolia.

"Whoah...I wonder if your ancestors were Mongolian..." Thanh Thanh commented about So Yen.

So Yen didn't replied but just gave her an evil eye(liec)...."I'm hungry..let's find something to eat..." she told the others.

They stop at an inn and ordered dinner and booked 3 rooms. Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan was in the first room. So Yen and Dong Nhi were in the second room. Thanh Thanh and Chi Hoa in the third room. All three rooms were closed to each other...

That night when So Yen and Dong Nhi were getting ready for bed, a dart flew into their window. It misses the girls and hit the bed rail. The girls flew out the window trying to catch the bandit. But couldn't find anyone...

"Chet!! bi trung ke roi(Oh No!! we've been tricked)..." Dong Nhi yelled to So Yen...they rushed back to their room and surely enough, their bags were searched. The map was missing...the real map was kept by Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan...So Yen kept the fake one. And she meant to leave it in her bag so the hac y can find it. They set a trap waiting for the hac y to fall into...

Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan came over to So Yen and Dong Nhi's room. He heard everything, but wanted to let the mysterious person to take the fake map so they can find out who he really is..."Dong Nhi...go get the girls and lets go.." he told Dong Nhi. Still have no clue what's going on yet...but she listened and do as told.

The girls met back with them and followed So Yen and Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan to a cave in a close by forest/mountain...

"If he did as was told in my fake map...he should be here in a moment.." So Yen told the girls.

"Awwww....so you didn't even trust us enough to tell us about your plan huh?" Thanh Thanh felt insulted. She was really upset.

"This is not the time to argue now Thanh Thanh...we'll tell you everything later.." Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan told her. They were staking out in a cave..where the hac y supposed to be if he followed the map.....but to their surprised all night, no one came....they stayed there until morning...

"So much for your plan...guess it didn't..."

"Shuh!!" Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan hushed Thanh Thanh up. He heard someone is coming...

Chapter 18

Surely enough, a mysterious person (hac y) walked into the cave. He was looking around...but to So Yen and Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan didn't see him with the map. They were suspicious...but Thanh Thanh jumped out and fought the hac y. The girls helped her too...but just as they captured him and questioned him, he was killed. A hac y from outside threw a poisonous dart which killed him.

Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan quickly flew out and caught up with the other hac y and they fought. This is the real one...his kungfu style is like the time that they ambushed So Yen at the beginning. Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan almost capture him, another hac y came and rescued him.

The girls and So Yen ran out to where Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan was....."He got away?" So Yen was really disappointed. A chance to catch her parents murderer and was lost.

"So Yen...don't be sad...I'll help you find your enemy.." he told her as he slightly tapped her shoulder. She sighed...looked at him with sadden eyes...knowing what he meant what he said...but still she had a sunken heart...so close yet so far from the truth.

They headed back to the inn. To their surprised, there were Mongolian palace guards staking out there. They walked into the inn and saw a young beautiful girl dressed in royal/luxurious pink outfit. It was the girl that used So Yen dart to lure Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan to the forest where So Yen was bitten by a snake....

"It's you...Tieu Co Nuong..." Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan said to the girl with a charming smile on his face.

"We meet again Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan.." the girl told him..she smiled back.

So Yen and the other girls didn't like the way that girl flirting with Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan...."Who are you?" Thanh Thanh asked the girl.

"You'll know after you follow me to the palace...Mau Hau (My mother, the Queen) wanted to see you..." she told Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan....Ignoring the other girls.

Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan was looking like he kinda figure out who it is wanted to see him...."Ok...you go first lead the way..." he told the girl.

"Quan Dai Ca!!" the girls tugged at his sleeves.

"Well, I'm sure the queen doesn't mind we coming along..." said So Yen as she looked at the girl..

"If you want to come....I'm not stoping you.." the girl said...and she led the way.

They were shown to the palace garden...

"You just wait here for a minute. I'll go get Mau Hau..." the girl excused herself.

"I wonder....oh I know...mother told us about Hoa Co Co being here as the Queen of Mongolia..." Dong Nhi told the others...

Just before Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan agreed with her, the Queen came..."Yes..you're right Dong Nhi..." she told them.

"How do you know our names?" Thanh Thanh asked.

"There is nothing that goes on in this land that Mau Hau doesn't know..." the girl replied.

"Nguyet Co(Ruby Lin)...don't be like that..." the queen scolded her.

The queen went over to Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan and looked at him closely....."You're definitely a handsome lad just like So Dai Ca...with a little resemblance of your mother..." she told him with a smile.

"Hoa Co Co qua khen.." he replied.

She looked over at the girls...."you girls remind me of your mothers too..."

"Hoa Co Co!!" they greeted her.

Then the queen turned her eyes onto So Yen...."and this is?" she asked.

"Tan So Yen....my friend..." Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan told her. So Yen heard he said my friend...she gave him a look..."why did he even have to say that?" she thought to herself.

"So what are you kids doing here? Not to come and visit me is it?" the queen went on.

"We're here on a little quest...regarding my family...that's all.." So Yen replied.

The queen didn't ask further...."You should stay in the palace and be my guests..." she told them.

"As you wish ....Thank you Hoa Co Co..." Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan replied.

Chapter 19

That evening when they all were shown to their rooms, So Yen went for a walk by herself in the garden. She wasn't too happy about the hac y escape and add to her sorrow, Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan comment about her being a FRIEND. She was strolling along kinda down. What do you know...she ran into Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan and the Mongolian Princess, Nguyet Co(Ruby). She was a bit steamy already. They were strolling along and talking. So Yen stop on track, a bit upset to see him with another girl, and turned around, about to headed the other way....

"So Yen..." he called her. He walked over...."you misunderstand..."he softly told her.

"Why should I be?....I'm only A FRIEND..." she gave him an evil eye(liec)...."huh!!" she turned and ran away.

"So Yen!!! So Yen!!" he ran after her.

Nguyet Co was upset that he left her there and ran after So Yen. She stomped her feet and plucked the leaves off a branch nearby.

Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan caught up with So Yen and grabbed her arm. She turned around and fought him. He only blocked her strikes. But she kept attacking so he grabbed her right arm and twisted it behind her back and tilted her a little so she was facing him. She then tried to strike him with her left hand and he caught that too. She was struggling to get free..but no use...she is no match for him. He was holding her left hand and twisting her right hand behind her back. There was no way she can escape unless he releases her.

"Let go of me!!" she demanded with her big round eyes scolding at him. Her face was pouting. Then she looked away from him...like she doesn't want to see his face.

"I will if you stop and listen.." he told her with that thingyy smile on his face...."Promise??"

She just nodded a little. Then he released his grip and let go of her....She was grabbing her right wrist with her left hand...massaging it since he hurted it...

"Are you alright?" he saw her massaging her wrist...he put his hand out trying to take a look at her wrist. But she yanked it away...."So Yen...." his deep manly voice with twist of concerned made her feel a bit woozie...butterflies in her tummy.

She slightly glanced over at him....but not directly into his face. She didn't say anything though. Feeling a bit better. He gently took her wrist, looked at it then massaged it. She tried hard not to smile but it was tugging at the corner of her lips...."So Yen...sao em nong tanh vay(why are you so quick tempered)?" he teased her.

"Phai...em nong tanh roi sao (I am quick tempered....so what)?" she yanked her hand back and gave him her stuck up look.

He gave a little smirk and came closer to her....."Phai rang chieu cho sao (then I have to live with it...that's what)..." his charming thingyy face could melt any girl's heart.

"Cai mieng ngot sot (you're such a sweet talker)...." with a little shy smile on her lips as she looked down to the ground.

"So where you want to go?" he asked her.

"huh?" she didn't have any plan to go anywhere....she was just upset at seeing him with Nguyet Co(Ruby).

"Then I'll take you to this place...." didn't even wait for her to agree, he grabbed her hand and led the way.

"Where are we going?" she asked...

"You'll see..." he took her out of the palace and into the woods....The sun was beaming an orange glow as it about to set. To her surprised....in the deep forest there is the most beautiful sight. A forest full of orchids...especially the lilacs one...she was amazed to be in the middle of all this beauty....."Whoah....." she looked around. The orchids look especially beautiful with the orange sun ray beaming on them...."How did you know about this place?" she asked him as she was still enjoying the scene.

"Nguyet Co told me...." he asnwered. He picked a lovely lilac one and stuck it on her hair..."It goes well with your outfit..." he commented.

She smiled...a bit shy and happy...He put his arms out and pulled her to him...(hhehehe...what a smooth guy huh...)...of course she didn't object. She was feeling much better...all the heaviness in her heart seemed to lifted away at that moment...

Chapter 20

Back at the palace....

The girls were looking for him. They ran into the Mongolian Princess, Nguyet Co(Ruby)....

"Princess...have you seen Quan Dai Ca?" Thanh Thanh(Gigi) asked.

"huh!!" Nguyet Co was upset at hearing the question...her face was pouting.

"What's wrong Princess?" Dong Nhi(Hai Mi) asked...."Have you seen Quan Dai Ca?" she asked again.

"He ran after So Yen...and I don't know where they went..." Nguyet Co told the girls. They were all a bit unhappy. Their eyes were dropped to the floor.

"Don't be upset Princess....we feel the same way...he only cares about So Yen...." Chi Hoa(Margie) told Nguyet Co.

They all gave a big sigh....

"What are you girls doing here?" Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan and So Yen walked in. They came back since it was getting dark and they can't see the orchid anymore..

Seeing the orchid in So Yen's hair made Nguyet Co even more steamy...."So you asked me about the orchid forest for her huh?" she scolded at him and pointed at So Yen.

"I'm going to my room..." So Yen was a bit shy...knowing the girls were jealous at her...she excused her self. Feeling all happy as she went back to her room.

"I'm a bit tired myself...I'm going to my room too..." he excused himself and left the girls standing there pouting.

So Yen went to her room with a huge smile on her face. She closed the door behind her and walked to the mirror and looked at herself. She slightly touched the lovely lilac orchid in her hair and flashback to the scene when he placed on and held her. She smiled to herself. Then headed to bed.

The next day everyone was gathered at the main hall for breakfast. The king and Queen were hosting along with the princess....

"Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan....I heard you play the flute beautifully...do you mind entertain us with a tune?" the king said.

"As you command your highness...." he took his jade flute from the back of his belt and started a enchanting tune. All those who heard his tune was mazmurized. It was like he hypnotized them all with his music. When the tune ended they still lingering to it.

"That is wonderful....you surely are a talented young man....handsome....vo cong tham hau...and tai hoa (with superb kungfu and skills)..." the king commented...."not less than your father, So Luu Huong..."

"Qang thuong qua khen(your Highness giving me more praise than I deserve)..." he shyly replied. Then sat down. They all have their own little short table...So Yen was next to him...then Dong Nhi...Chi Hoa...and Thanh Thanh..

"My daughter is at the age of getting married....the queen and I haven't found anyone who suits her....you're the son of an old friend would be a perfect match..." the king added.

Nguyet Co was a bit ambarrassed....She heard her mom talked about Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan father, So Luu Huong, all the time so she was curious about him. That's why she went to Trung Nguyen to see for herself how great he is since his father was so famous. Ever since that night when she used So Yen's dart to lure him to the forest, she can never forget him.

Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan was shock at the king's comment/offer...He looked over at So Yen...She was glancing over at him with a pout on her face. She put the chopsticks down on the table and couldn't eat anymore...

"Uhmmmmm...." he was speechless...didn't know how to decline the king's offer.

"ha ha!!" a manly voice was heard from afar....It was So Luu Huong and Tieu Tinh...they flew into the palace..."Want to arrange a marriage for our son without consenting us?" Tieu Tinh jokingly said.

"Dad!! Mom!!...what a delightful surprised to see you here..." Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan stood up and came over to greet his parents.

"Tinh Quan...." Tieu Tinh said...patted him on his arm with a smile.

"So Dai Ca ...chi Tieu Tinh...long time no see.." the queen greeted them. She came down from her seat and offered them a seat.

"hahah....good that you're here....I was offering my daughter's hand in marriage to your son....since you're here you can decide for him..." the king laughed happily.

So Yen wasn't feeling to good about the idea. She got up and ran out of the hall.

"So Yen!!" Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan called but he couldn't leave...his parents had just arrived.

"Who was that Tinh Quan?" Tieu Tinh asked.

"She is Tan So Yen...I'll tell you all about her later mom..." he told her.

"So Dai Ba...Tinh Co Co...!!" the girls greeted So Luu Huong and Tieu Tinh.

"You girls must be the charming daughters of Dung Dung, Hong Tu and Diem Nhi..." Tieu Tinh commented with a smile...."So beautiful and grown already..." she added...."So Dai Ca...we have to accept the fact that we're getting old....these kids are all grown now...how time past so fast..." she turned to So Luu Huong with a smile.

So Luu Huong just smiled...."but you're always as beautiful as ever..." he added looking at his wife....They smiled..she was kinda shy...coz he said that in front of everyone.

"So what bring you here to our corner of the world?" the queen asked.

"We were wandering around and happened to end up here...just thought of stoping by to see you and family..." Tieu Tinh told her.

"So what do you think of my offer?" the king was anxious for an answer....

"We don't want to interfere in the kid's life....let him make his own decision..." Tieu Tinh quickly replied. Seeing how Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan reacted when So Yen ran out, kinda gave her an idea that her son is in love with that girl.

"Let's talk about that later....we have lots of things to reminess about over wine....." So Luu Huong changed the subject...."Talking about wine...have you heard about Ho Thiet Hoa? The last I heard of him was that he resides here in your country...." So Luu Huong added.

"Oh really? Ho Dai Ca is here? How come we didn't know.." the queen was surprised...

"Maybe he is hiding somewhere in your wine cellar..." Tieu Tinh made a joke. They all laughed.

chapter 21

After breakfast, So Luu Huong and the king were drinking wine and talking. Tieu Tinh had a talk with the queen. The girls went to their room pouting about the king offer. Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan went looking for So Yen....

"So Yen??!?" he knocked on her door...."Are you in there?"

She was in there..but she was upset...she didn't want to answer him....sitting on her bed pouting.

"If you don't open the door...then I'm leaving..." he told her. He waited for a minute...then turned like he's leaving..

"Crack!!" the door opened and she was standing right there with a pouting face. He turned around and smiled...."Can I come in?" he asked with that thingyy look on his face.

"You're going to be the Pho MA Gia(the princess's husband)...this whole place is yours...of course you can go anywhere you want..." she told him with a grudge.

He smiled...."Some body is being jealous..." he teased her.

"huh!!" she went over to the table and sat down...facing her back at him.

He came in leaving the door opened...."Sao em nhong nheo hoai vay(why are you always pouting)?" as he walked to her and tapped her shoulder.

She shrugged her shoulder...brushing is hand off..."Everywhere you go there girls falling for you...why do you have to come here?" she said in her upset mood.

"I don't really know why I'm here..." he answered in a thingyy joke with a thingyy smile...of course he knew why he is here...

Hearing him say that put a deeper frown on her face...She gave him her evil eye again(liec him with mac du)...

"I'm here coz I don't want the girl I love all upset and pouting.." he went on with his charming smile. Now that put a smile on her face...but she still didn't look over at him...she didn't want him to see her smiling.

"Tinh Quan!!" Tieu Tinh called...she was standing in front of So Yen's room. So Yen heard Tieu Tinh voice...she got up and turned to greet her.

"Mom!! you need to see me?" he asked. Tieu Tinh let herself in...her eyes were focusing on So Yen instead of Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan...

A bit ambarrassed and turned all red under the stare of Tieu Tinh....."So Phu Nhan..." she softly uttered...looking towards the ground after made a quick eye contact with Tieu Tinh.

Tieu Tinh just smiled...she liked So Yen...she reminded her of herself long ago...."Tan Co Nuong...what a beautiful charming face...no wonder my son jumped as you ran out all upset..." she smiled.

Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan was a bit uneasy at his mom comment..."Mom..." he softly said.

"You're a grown man now Tinh Quan...nothing to be shy of..." Tieu Tinh told him...her eyes were still on So Yen though...."So where are your parents?" she asked So Yen.

"My parents were dead when I was 6..." she sadly replied.

"Oh...I'm sorry..." Tieu Tinh felt sorry for her...."So who took care of you all this time?" she added.

"I was on my own all this time...then I ran into Quan Dai Ca a couple of months ago..." she told Tieu Tinh.

"That must be a hard life for you..." Tieu Tinh sympathized for her....on her own at such a young age....in a way she reminded her of herself...but a stronger more intuitive girl than when she was her age.

They had a little talk then she left So Yen and Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan alone..."I'm going to check on your father...come see us later would you..." she told him and left.

Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan turned to her and smiled..."my mom seems to like you..." he told her in a teasing way.

She was turning all red and turned the other way....."Don't use your mom to sweet talk me.." she told him with a happy face.

"So do you think I should marry the princess?" he teased her. His joke turned her smile to a frown right away....

"If you want to...who can stop you..." she told him...pouting.

"So Yen....how can I marry some one else but my heart is yours..." he turned her around facing him....his gentle serious tone eased her frown....She looked straight into his eyes...her eyes were asking him.."Realy?...you mean it?"

He didn't answer her...except for holding her tight in his arms.

Chapter 22

That evening...Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan went to his parents room to see them....

"knock knock!!" he knocked on the door...

"Come in Tinh Quan..." So Luu Huong told him. Tieu Tinh was pouring tea for So Luu Huong. They were at the tea table.

"Dad...Mom...you wanted to see me?" he said.

"So...I heard your mom said lots of nice thing about this Tan Co Nuong..." So Luu Huong told him with a smile on his face.

"He's so much like you So Dai Ca....travel around with all the beautiful girls....it's so true about the old saying ....like father like son.." she looked at him as she was playing with a piece of his hair.

"But we only love one girl...." So Luu Huong turned to Tieu Tinh and gave her that look. She didn't say anything else...just smiled back...

"Son...if you don't like the princess....just tell the king so...your mohter and I will not interfere in your love life...we've made our choice...and we don't want to make a decision that you don't like.." So Luu Huong told him.

"Thanx dad!!!" Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan replied with a relief.

"So you do like this Tan Co Nuong alot then?" Tieu Tinh wanted to confirm...."She seems to be very sweet..." she added.

"and sometimes she can give me a real headache too.." Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan commented....

"Now..that's remind me of someone...." So Luu Huong looked at Tieu Tinh...

"So Dai Ca a`..." she slightly scolded at him.

"Your mom spun me around quite a bit too son...." he smiled..."I can't wait to actually meet this girl then...to see if she's like what your mom said..." he added..."Anyways, what made you come here son?"

"Oh...So Yen's family treasure map...it took us here...we were curious about what's in there..." Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan told his parents..."But there is another force seems to want this map alot...I fought with them already and don't know exactly what kind of kungfu they are using..." he went on.

"oh?? Do you need my help..."

"Hmmmmm...So Dai Ca...here you go again....just let the kids do their thing...when they need us we'll be there....you promise me you won't be meddling into the giang ho business anymore..." Tieu Tinh reminded him with a pout on her face.

"I'm sorry honey....it slip my mind.." he touched her shoulder with a smile.

"Here son...if you need us...just light this up..." she handed Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan 5 little fireworks...."No matter where you are we'll be able to find you..." she added.

"Thanx mom!!" he replied putting away in his belt....."So how long are you staying here?"

Tieu Tinh and So Luu Huong looked at each other then turned to Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan..."We're leaving right now...go give our regards to the king and queen for us...we will be around though....hopefully we'll run into your Ho Thuc Thuc..." So Luu Huong told him.

"So when am I going to see you again?" he asked...

"In due time son...we'll see you back in Trung Nguyen..." So Luu Huong told him. Then he and Tieu Tinh used their kinh cong and flew out.

Chapter 23

The next morning....

The girls were coming to So Luu Huong and Tieu Tinh to greet them...

"You girls looking for my parents?" Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan saw the girls walking towards his parents room direction.

"Quan Dai Ca....where are So Ba Ba and Tinh Co Co?" they asked him.

"They left lastnight...Dad and mom like to come and go as they pleased..." he told them with a smile.

"Aw....if that's the case, then what are we're going to do today? We've spent 3 days here already....shouldn't we go on with So Yen's family treasure?" Chi Hoa(Margie) suggested.

"Yeah...I was thinking of the same thing..." So Yen's voice coming from the other direction. As usual, she is in her lilac outfit with a lavender belt and other shades of purple chiffon cape. She is extremely cute today.

"goodmorning!!" Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan greeted her with a smile on his face. He was looking at her mezmurizing.

Seeing his look...she was a bit shy..."Goodmorning..." she said in a soft shy voice.

"Why looking so beautiful today?" Thanh Thanh(Gigi) teased her.

"Don't I look beautiful everyday??.." she replied in a stuck up face and don't really care...

"Ok girls....lets go...we have to say goodbye to the king and queen before we can go..." Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan interrupted them.

"Yeah...have to say goodbye to your future parents in law..." So Yen liec at him...and stuck her nose up in the air as she walked passed him. He just shook his head and followed her to the main hall. The girls looked at each other and sighed then followed them out too.

At the main hall, the king and queen were residing on top.

"Your highness....we come to say our goodbyes...we need to part today...there are things we need to do..." he told the king and queen.

"Oh...so have you think about my offer yesterday?" the king reitterate his marriage proposal.

Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan looked over at So Yen....she was folding her arms and pouting..."thank you for your kindness...but I don't think I'm suitable for the princess...I'm just an ordinary guy....I couldn't possibly bring happiness to her..." he declined the king offer.

The king and queen weren't too happy at his answer...but they know they can't force him to do what he doesn't want to....The king sighed..."Oh well, Nguyet Co will not be too happy with the answer...but I can't force you to do what you don't want.....but if you need anything from us just let me know..." he told Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan and the girls.

"Thank you for understanding your highness....we're fine right now...we'll keep your words in mind....you take care!!" Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan and the girls chap tay chao and turned to leave.....

"Why don't you agree to the marriage? am I not worthy of you?" Nguyet Co(Ruby) was at the entrance. She was upset...

"Princess....I don't mean that...but I already have my y chung nhan (my soulmate)..." he told her... The girls were surprised to even hear him said that.

"It's her isn't it?" Nguyet Co was pointing at So Yen...Tears went down her cheeks.

So Yen was looking at Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan....waiting for him to answer too...

Walking towards So Yen and standing next to her...."Yes...I love So Yen....I'm sorry princess...you'll find someone else more worthy of you than me..." he told her. The girls were devasted to hear him said all that. Their hopes are over....he actually said he loves So Yen....They all wanted to cry but they were able to keep it in....with a solem face though. So Yen was really happy inside that he admitted his love for her in front of everyone...

"Phu Quang...Mau Hau(Dad..Mom)!!" Nguyet Co ran to her parents crying.

"There there....you'll be fine dear..." the queen comforted her daughter. Knowing exactly how she felt. Coz she was once there too...

"I'm sorry....your highness...we must go now...thank you for your hospitality..." Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan said the last goodbye and went out with the girls.

They were outside of the palace and was walking along the street....someone picked the orchid hairpin from So Yen's head. She went right after him....Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan saw So yen was really worried about that hairpin so he used his kinh cong and went after the guy.

They ended up in the forest....The guy stop...."Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan is surely is kinh cong tham hau (very skillful in your flying kungfu)..." said the guy. Dressed like a drunk with his raggety but clean looking clothes.

"Give me back my hairpin!!" So Yen demanded. Her eyes were looking so serious. It's the one given to her by her mom. She treasure it the most.

"Whoah...the madder you get the prettier you look..." he guy teased her..."it's only a hairpin why are you over reacting?" he added..."If you can take it back from me than go ahead..." he told her.

"Let me..." Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan tapped her shoulder and jumped out to fight the guy. They fought for probably 30 chieu and of course the hairpin was in Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan's hand. He stop fighting and went back to So Yen..."Here you go..." he placed it back on her hair.

"Not bad....my dad didn't praised too much about your kungfu...." the guy commmented.

"Who is your dad?" Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan asked the guy.

"He is a good friend of your dad....Ho Thieu Hoa..." the guy replied.

"Awwww...so you're Ho Thuc Thuc's son?" Chi Hoa(Margie) responded.

"Yes...I'm Ho Phi(Felix).." the guy put his hands together to greet the group.

"Ho Phi Dai Ca!!" the girls greeted him.

"Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan....though I don't really know you yet but according to my dad...I see you're pretty much like your dad...having all beautiful girls around everywhere you go.." Ho Phi jokingly said. Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan didn't answer but just pasted a thingyy smile on his face as he looked at all the girls.

"So where is Ho Thuc Thuc now? My parents were looking for him...." Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan asked Ho Phi.

"Oh...they met already...that's how I know you guys are here..." Ho Phi replied...."I'm all game for an adventure...mind if I come along?" he asked.

"Sure thing...I don't see why not..." Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan told him....

"As long as you stay away from my hairpin you'll be fine..." So Yen was still a little upset at him for taking her hairpin. She headed in front leaving the crowd behind.

"Whoah...what with the grudge...it's only a hairpin...don't have to be so nho mon (petty) like that.." Ho Phi commented in front of the others.

"Ho Phi Dai Ca...It's belong to her deceased mother....she treasure that the most..." Dong Nhi(Hai Mi) told him. She used to share a room with So Yen and she did mentioned that once.

"Oh...my bad...I didn't know..." Ho Phi replied.

"It's alright...she'll be fine..." Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan told him..."let's go...So Yen is pretty far ahead already..." he rushed them off. They all took off after So Yen to town...

Chapter 24

They got to town it's was around noonish...they stoped at an inn and have lunch. So Yen and Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan were sharing a chair...Ho Phi sat across from them...and the girls occupied the other two....They ordered some dishes and was sipping their tea. As for Ho Phi...he is definitely his dad's son...he had wine...

"I've been noticing those ppl on the other side, at the corner...they've been looking over here all that time...." So Yen quietly told the group....

"Don't look...just act normal..." Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan told them.

The food came out and they started eating...."We have to be cautious tonight....there might be unwelcome guests.." Ho Phi told the group. After lunch they booked 3 rooms...they wanted to see who is spying on them...

Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan and Ho Phi shared one room...So Yen and Dong Nhi share the next room...and Thanh Thanh and Chi Hoa shared the other room. While they were in their rooms, they heard fighting coming from down stairs...they went out to the balcony to see what's going on...it was a beautiful girl fighting with a bully man and his servants...she was surrounded....Ho Phi was about to save the girl...but someone else beat him to it. To everyone surprise, it was Ung Dai Du(Kent Tong).

"What is he doing here?" So Yen looked up at Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan....He didn't answer but was observing the heroic rescue. He just smiled at So Yen...

"Thank you for saving me..." the pretty girl thanked Ung Dai Du...

"No problem Tieu Co Nuong..." Ung Dai Du replied with a smile...he was staring at her beauty...his eyes were about to pop out of their sockets.

Her servants came for her...."Tieu Tho!! I got more ppl to help you...." she told her...but seeing her Tieu Tho doesn't need them anymore..."I'm Duong Tieu Mai(Jamie)...if you ever need anything here just let me know..." she told him and left with the servants. She turned back and smiled at him....

"Whoah...that girl surely have lots of servants following her..." Ho Phi commented. He was struck by her beauty too.
"Did you see how beautiful she is..." he elbowed Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan....

So Yen liec him....."huh!!" and went back to her room....the girls too...they all left.

"What? what did I say? I only commented on her beauty that's all..." Ho Phi looked at Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan then shrugged his shoulders.

"You shouldn't compliment one girl in front of another girl Ho Phi..." he gave a smirk and walk back inside.

"Dang ba dung la nho mon (girls surely are so petty)..." Ho Phi made his last comment and followed Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan inside. They sat at a table and ordered wine.

"So in those 4 girls which one do you have an eye on? Let me know so I wont' hit on her..." Ho Phi asked him with a smile on his face. That's one characteristic of him that's different from his dad...he does like girls....and he like to flirt too.

Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan didn't answer him ...he just shook his head with a smile and sip up his wine cup....

"Though you won't say but I know which one is yours....it's So Yen isn't it....I saw the way you two were eyeing each other and she really have her eyes tight on you.." Ho Phi laughed....

"Hmmmm...I heard my parents says lots of things about Ho Thuc Thuc...but this is surely none that they say about him...you seems to be more into girls than your dad and more observant too..." Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan commented with a thingyy smile.

"Yeah...that's what my dad told me too.." Ho Phi replied with a smile on his face.

"Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan!!" a voice said....they looked up and it was Ung Dai Du...."What a surprise to see you here..."

"It's quite a surprise for us too..." Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan replied....

Ung Dai Du looked around..."where are the girls? Aren't they with you?" he added.

"Oh they are resting in their rooms...it was a long trip..." Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan told him...."Won't you sit down and join us?...btw, this is the son of my parents old friend, Ho Phi....I'm sure your dad knows his father too.."

Ung Dai Du sat down and make acquaintance with Ho Phi....

"Quan Dai C..." So Yen went out looking for him...she didn't finish and saw Ung Dai Du sitting with them....

"Tan Co Nuong..." Ung Dai Du stood up to greet her...

"Ung Cong Tu.." she nodded...then turned to Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan...."Can I see you for a minute..." she asked him...they excuse themselves....They went out for some privacy....

"The two of them are always like that....what a love birds.." Ho Phi commented...Little did he know that Ung Dai Du had a little crush on So Yen too...

"Quan Dai Ca a`...I don't trust the Ung Dai Du too much...you better be careful with him ok..." So Yen told him.

"Ung Cong Tu is a nice guy....you must not been in good term with him that's all..." Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan told her...

"Quan Dai Ca..." she knitted her brow and pouted her face...

"Ok ....I'll keep what you said in mind...is that better now?" he tilted his head and looked into her face...that thingyy smile on his face always put a smile on hers.

"Anyway, can you tell Ho Dai Ca not to tell him too much about the treasure hunt? I really don't want him to come along too....I know he's up to no good.." she kept on insisting Ung Dai Du is not who he seems to be...

"Alright...I will....you and the girls should get some rest....tonight there might be trouble..." he pinched her chin and went back to the guys. She went back to her room.

Chapter 25

Surely enough that night there were trouble coming towards them...but it wasn't just a visit from the unwanted guests...it was a fire. Someone had lit the whole inn on fire. There were hac y everywhere. They were fighting while the fire was engulfing the whole place...

"Girls!! lets go...this place is about to crumble!!" Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan yelled out to the girls...

They all jumped down from the top...as soon as they got away, the whole place fell apart...."My gosh...who is so evil trying to bbq us?" Thanh Thanh said.

"I think they meant to just get me...this time it doesn't seems to be just the map that they wanted...they were on to me..." So Yen said with her brows knitted together...

"You are so right...So Yen...from now on you better stay right by my side...." Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan told her with a straight face. He was serious...he's concerned. All the chieu thuc that the hac y was deadly...especially they were aimed at So Yen...

"So where are we going to spend the night? This is the only inn in this town..." Chi Hoa(Margie) commented.

"I know of a vacatn temple nearby...let's go there..." Ho Phi suggested.

They all followed him.....

"Oh My gosh...you weren't kidding about the vacant part...look at all these dusts and spider webs..." Thanh Thanh(Gigi) was disgusted.

"Only a couple of spider webs can scare our Co co nuong already?" So Yen teased her.

"Yeah...I'm affraid of spiders is that your problem?" Thanh Thanh bickered back at her.

"Ok girls...let's tidy this place up a little...we're only spending the night....stop bickering..." Ngoc Tieu Lang Quan told them....They all cleared up the place a little...suitable to spend the night...

The girls were over at one corner and the guys were at the other....

"I'm not staying on the outside!!" So Yen told Thanh Thanh....

"What? I thought you're the brave one...been there done that...so what is the problem?" Thanh Thanh asked her...trying to pick another fight....

"I don't care!!! I'm just not going to stay on the outside...that's all!!" So Yen demanded...

"Ok ok...let me stay outside then.." said Dong Nhi....She knew So Yen is affraid of ghosts....though she been on her own for awhile but she couldn't get over the superstitious stuff...
