Barbara VS. Five Beauties

O.K. my question is why Barb is not one of the five beauties? When did they come up with this five beauties thing? I don't have any of their pics to compare with Barbara's, but I still think she should be included 'cause she's a smart, beautiful and talented actress. Am I missing something?

Are u serious?? I heard somewhere that the five beauties is given/name by the fans. I think the fans listed thier five beauties. I know Barbara should defintely be one of them. In the 80's,everyone have thier own special looks. Noone can be considered the prettiest of the top 5 beauty. If u come across some site and given the name of the MADE UP five beauty..than maybe that webmaster is just listing their favorties:)
The only thing i heard is the 5 tiger..never heard of hte 5 beauty in the 80's or 90's.

Yeah, I agree with Tammy on this one Apple. "The Five Beauties" didn't really exist as far as I know of. Of course people always have their top five favorites but that doesn't mean much. If anything, ML would've been part of any of the popular groups created by TVB in the 80s because she really outshined most of the TVb actresses. She was on demand because of her beauty and wit and great acting skills. So anyhow, if there was any type of official list, I am 100% positive ML would be a part of it. =)

Anyway, back to the topic since I'm here, might as well, talk about it rite? I used to think actresses in 80s are very beautiful and more beautiful than those from 90s and 2000s, but out of all of them, I think Barbara is the most beautiful. Perhaps actresses like Idy Chan, Rosamund Kwan, and Kathy Chow were also beautiful but when it comes to charm, no one can beat Barbara. She was able to capture my heart in just one glance. Beauty is not only about face, it's about how you carry yourself. There are still a lot of pretty actresses now like Michelle Reis, Cecilia Cheung, etc but they are the kinds that I lose interest after a while.

Barbara has the lasting beauty because not only is she pretty, she is also cute, lovely, lively, and charming. She definitely deserves the title as one of the five beauty if there is ever such a thing. Besides, I'm pretty sure TVB will include her if the five beauties were named while Barbara is around TVB, because she is the most valued, most popular and most highly-ranked actress at that time in TVB.

O.K. it looks like there're 2 lists of 80's five beauties.

1) Barbara Yung, Maggie Cheung, Carina Lau, Margie Tsang and Yammie Lam.

2) Jamie Chik, Kitty Lai, Idy Chan, Margie Tsang and Yammie Lam.

(Notice how one has Barb on it and the other has Jamie on it!!!)

I don't care if it's real or fake...I'm going with No. 1 ;D

To me, i thught yammie is so so. She never really crosses my mind. Margie is very cute to me and shes still cute and pretty now too.
Carina lau is pretty yup yup..maggie is also cute..
barbara is a combo of cute and pretty

p.s. Doesnt matter ,jaime can never overshadow Barbara and im pretyt much Bias about this hahaha

First list, I got from an article on Yesasia. Second list is from one of the Condor Hero fan site. I don't know who Yammie Lam is. I vaguely remember Margie and Carina. I remember Jamie more now 'cause she's married to Miu. I can't help but to think if Barbara is still alive, she'd be a famous movie star like Maggie Cheung.
